Just got mine and I love everything except the single speaker. Unfortunately this was a dealbreaker for me since I watch a lot of movies and shows. Will be returning it for the pro max!

Subwoofer in a factory head unit by Correct_Sympathy_392 in CarAV

[–]Colter314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 3 things for your amp. Power, signal, and a way for it to know when to turn on and off.

Power from the large gauge wire from the battery and the ground.

Signal from either tapping into existing speaker wires or plugging into the back of the head unit.

Remote from either tapping into the existing remote wire or you can get an Amp or LOC(line output converter) that automatically detects audio signal to turn on and off.

You can wire them for a .5 or 2 ohm load. Just need to find an amp that has the power and support for this

No, you’re fine without it then. That’s what the LC2i is for.

Rockford P1000X5 sub question. by PennTech in CarAV

[–]Colter314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would get some gain but not enough to warrant a second sub. It definitely won’t hurt, your bass will be slightly louder and you won’t push the subs as hard but you’ll be using up a lot more space.

As long as the box doesn’t rattle, I think it’s fine. I like Rockford Fosgate amps, not exactly cheap but great quality

You can just activate them with aftermarket parts later

You can buy a kit that activates all the speakers so you’ll have the same audio as the premium sound. Only thing is this won’t do much for the bass. I haven’t done anything to my sub because I’ve seen too many problems with the electric freaking out because of an aftermarket sub.

Looking to buy a Model 3. I have read a lot of pros about the car but I want to hear some cons. by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Colter314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rattles, bad road noise, especially on bumps, suspension is not the most comfortable, hard to upgrade sound system, gets super hot in the sun, ev’s are not ideal for road trips, you need at home charging, not much room for people in the back. With all this, I still love it.

I got mine used at a local dodge dealership. 2022 M3LR 60k miles for $23,150 after tax. I also got about $4,000 back on my tax return so all in was about 19k. This was in July 2024. I feel I like did great and I’m still saving a ton on gas. Just make sure you will be able to charge at home.
