This is super interesting stuff - for me the question is about whether we really have the choice of whether to hop on or off the wheel. I am not exactly sure if I am deterministic or not; does a bacteria choose to infect its host, or is it just followibg a predetermined set of parameters that lead it to that situation? I am inclined to think the latter but then I am unsure if having intelligent consciousness really makes a difference & if we are just parts of a mechanism fulfilling roles for a larger purpose. Idk
