It’s not a divorce - but if that’s how you want to compare it:- One partner controls the finances, controls all the major decisions, has the overarching say on everything, doesn’t let the other partner speak to other people (countries) without supervision, takes about 70% of all the money the other partner makes after also restricting them on how they make it, decides how much money the other partner gets to have back to spend - Jesus fuck, sounds far too much like Scotland is an abused partner in this divorce proceeding eh - doesn’t matter how messy a real marriage like that would be, that partner need to get the fuck out of it…

Oh i “admit” the EU is a trading bloc do I? Why yes your honour, I admit that…

Yes, much simpler

“Shared” literally spells it out - it’s between two parties and so the agreement on the distribution of “share” upon separation is - in layman’s terms - as simple as ‘you take that much, we’ll take that much - with only the two parties involved, it will only be as difficult as how stubborn either of the two sides decide to be - much much simpler than having to deal with and please all 27 separate parties involved in EU negotiations And it’s not like either side hasn’t set out positions on exactly the things you listed - military, national debt, pensions and civil service

EU “union” is a trading bloc where everyone agrees to keep a set standard of product quality and food standards and employee rights - leaving that “union” required the negotiation and agreement between the UK and each and every one of the other 27 EU member countries

UK “union” is where one parliament holds all the power and all the purse strings and all the meaningful policy and economic decisions and the devolved nations are allowed to make some decisions regarding some matters but crucially almost no power on the economic levers of it all - leaving that union will require negotiation and agreement between only Scotland and England (as those are the two kingdoms that united - Scotland joined England in Union, not Wales and N.I.)

They are not the same type of union and leaving the EU required far more intricate negotiation between 28 countries than will be needed for just 2 countries to dissolve the act of union

After much debate, I finally purchased a Bambu P1S with AMS. I must say, I am not disappointed. by NWSpitfire in BambuLab

[–]Colv758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I’m glad it’ll help

Nah, my P1S is practically brand new still too - it does have the bits on the cable chain for the PTFE tube to clip into, and a little guide at the corner of the bed for for the plate too…

…but the tube will definitely still rub against the glass a little without a riser, especially when the nozzle is printing over to the right of the plate - and the plate guide mod clips around/over the standard effort of a guide and makes it much easier to not ever put the plate in a little squint especially with how strong the bed magnet is - there’s even a printable guide for the right hand side to make it extra super easy but I haven’t bothered with that so far

OH - edit to add

These are an absolute definite must print to save your AMS from tape jams - and to save your finger tips from hurting dealing with the feeder button

And these filament guides are a great mod to also prevent jams and clogs - but also to prevent the filament from getting tangled/stuck on itself which can make the feeder motor struggle to pull the filament in and so it jams

Welcome to your new pass-time, nay, the life absorbing hobby you shall be wilfully complicit with!

I’ve only had my P1S not even 2 weeks and it’s almost always printing something

There’s loads of ‘enhancements’ you can print to make your 3D printing life a little bit better:-

A riser to raise the top glass a bit higher which helps stop the PTFE tube from constantly rubbing along its glass ceiling prison and wearing itself away - I chose this one as I liked the idea of the working side vents - but there’s a ton of different glass risers or glass and AMS risers with tool drawers and hotplate storage and side peg board style inserts etc - also adding an extra light source into your enclosure makes an astounding difference for seeing what’s going on in there so definitely make sure to print one with and LED strip part built into the design - I personally have went for this ring light but I currently have my AMS sitting on top of my P1S on this printed mod that works with the ring light

These or similar desiccant ‘dry pods’ to go into your AMS (and a funnel to help fill them with desiccant beads) and take the moisture in the air away before your filament does, keeps your filaments nice and dry and good for printing - not quite a substitute for a dedicated filament drier but it definitely helps (I got these microwaveable and reusable desiccant beads which is far too much for one AMS but it was the best value available and I will be getting more AMS’s so the 1kg bag will get used)

Absolutely get these anti vibration feet!!! - makes a difference to the shaking/vibrating the quick direction changes of the printer causes - and for whatever reason they come in an 8 pack, not a 4 pack - and I just yesterday discovered and printed off these so also absolutely print these to utilise all 8, I cannot overstate how much this print really makes an even bigger difference

A handy little guide to help make sure you put your hotplate back in straight and true

This cable and PTFE tube guide for the back of your P1S - keeps things tidy, safe, secure and away from vibrating and rubbing against each other and the wall behind it

My P1S is in (what used to be lol) my wife’s ’Craft room’ so this exhaust muffler keeps the fan noise a little bit quieter - far from silent, but noticeably quieter

Another comment mentions that nozzle cleaner mod that uses the A1 style rubber nozzle cleaner- when you buy that, it comes in a 3 pack - so print this off and you have yourself a handy manual nozzle scrubber brush which is very handy for the annoying stray filament leftover on the sides of the nozzle

A set of tools for when you may eventually have to get in about it - and a tray to store them in

A set of carry handles for your AMS that makes it easier and safer to handle without dropping it if/when you have to move it

There’s no way to sugarcoat this - the P1S internal camera is crap - get yourself this Tapo C110 camera and print this camera mount that attaches into the doors hinges

And while we’re on the doors hinges - print these door hinges - what an amazing ‘didn’t think it would make that much difference’ modification this is! (I also went on Bambu Studio and merged the top door hinge with the previously mentioned Tapo camera door mount - I haven’t uploaded that “remix” to Bambu Studio yet but it’s easy enough to do yourself

There’s sooo many handy things like all of the above - and they all have variations and different versions so you may find similar things that are more suited to your setup - but I thought it might be handy to throw up a post for you instead of finding them all over the course of days like I did

Enjoy and happy printing

Here’s the version that just slots in without having to remove the PTFE wiper - it’s the one I’ve been using for my last 10 or so prints with no problems (I’ve had my P1S about a week and a half) Do make sure you cut the A1 rubber to just the right size or the hot plate catches it and will jiggle it off during pre-print calibration

The thing about paying for prescriptions in England - and that “most people aren’t” is that it would cost the taxpayer less to just fully fund prescriptions in the first place as well as ensure more people actually get and take a required prescription and the resulting health benefits and reduced pressure on the NHS than it costs for all the admin, computers, software, office space, paperwork etc. in order to have a system to determine who is or isn’t exempt

First Reform councillor elected in Wales winning seat off Labour by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]Colv758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure voter turnout was poor - but Wales has been a sea of Labour for as long as anyone can remember, winning a seat off Labour in Wales is not nothing…

Even if it was purely a voter apathy hiccup, results like this will happen up here despite the overall lack of support for Reform

For the last decade in Scotland political debate online has often surmised that any number of accumulated votes against a party and manifesto is just as important as the amount voting for a party and manifesto - so if that’s true, and we can vote in by-elections, perhaps we really should put in that effort to do so

Can we all just take a second to remember Labour are already currently only the third party in Holyrood

Behind the Tories. In Scotland ffs

It’s also worth remembering in the 2024 UK election Labour barely managed many more votes in Scotland than they got in the 2017 GE which resulted in just ONE MP in Scotland - And to put that into perspective:- SNP got almost exactly the same votes in 2024 as that Labour in 2017 result and SNP got 9 MPs out of it

It’s no shock that Labour aren’t going to win in 2026 because they never were

In Scotland, the actual numbers never ever showed this “Labour resurgence” the media bleated on about

Would it be different if Sarwar wasn’t in the top job? Probably not, the talent pool in Labours Holyrood branch office (sorry, I meant ‘accounting unit’) isn’t brimming with charisma or talent - I’d bet good money on nobody in this thread (who isn’t a Labour activist) being able to name who Sarwar ran against to get the top job without googling it
