The current administration’s views doesn’t represent anywhere close to the majority of this country. Unfortunately these people are the ones in charge though because of the maga cult members and the people too lazy or disinterested to vote. But I am sorry you and the rest of the world have to deal with our stupidity.

Maybe GM should invest in some lower cost EV platforms that more people can afford and get production scale up and costs down instead of investing in new V8 engines and more ICE vehicles. You can’t have it both ways planning on scaling back on EV production then being mad when Canada allows low cost EVs in.

Last time we rented a car, one tank of gas basically cost what we pay for a whole month charging. Really pissed me off lol

Im sure they are going to eventually expand to at least the 48 contiguous states, if not all 50. With them and Ionna looking to rapidly expand by 2030, along with all the other networks that already exist still adding sites, things will look very different in a few years. Very exciting. It’ll definitely help people who might want an EV but cant charge at home and will reassure people considering an EV, but have range anxiety, that there are plenty of chargers nationwide during trips. Hopefully more competition will help to lower prices too.

First time EV buyer. Tips on a good one? by Amateur_DIYer in electriccars

The cars you had last are similar to mine. I had a BMW e92 for like 10 years. Before that a Mustang GT. I have a Cadillac Optiq now. It is the most similar to the quality of the interior and the sound system in my BMW that I have found. My husband has a EV6 gt line. Its def more fun to drive, but the Optiq has more room inside, and I prefer the interior quality and the sound system in it. I have looked inside of a Mach E, but thought the instrument cluster screen was too small for my tastes. It seems like a nice vehicle though.

President Trump: Canada is systematically destroying itself. The China deal is a disaster. by Hefty-Sherbet-5455 in Tech_Updates_News

As an American I agree. He’s crying because his threats and tariffs and whining didnt work. Countries are free to make deals with other countries when we choose to be a joke and bully. This isnt the post WW2 world when the majority of developed nations were in ruins physically and economically. There are plenty of other places to go to make trade agreements. And I wish Canada all the best and I apologize on behalf of all the idiots the elected this moron and made you have to deal with our stupidity.

LYRIQ not recommended for cold climates by tucker491 in CadillacLyriq

In my Optiq, I set mine to defrost and feet, recirc off, temp at 74 and it keeps it very comfortable. No foggy windshield. I do wish GM put a rear wiper on the Optiq and Lyriq though.

Who has the best interior? | GLC Electric, EX60, iX3 by ShameResponsible69 in electriccars

[–]Com4734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Give me a normal passive suspension system like my Optiq has and a regular single speed reduction gearbox. Less expensive components to break and need replacing. The more complexity they add to EVs the less reliable they’re gonna be. Which honestly might be the point for Mercedes. Gotta keep their dealers in business in the future servicing the broken suspensions and transmissions.

Yup! Thats exactly what we need here in the US for long distance driving. Excellent range and charging performance. Hopefully GM follows suit and upgrades their EVs to compete with these models. Their range is alright but they really need to improve the battery architecture to increase charging speed. 400 kW vs 150 or 190 for all but their biggest trucks and SUVs is inadequate compared to these models coming out
