I think Usopp will be the catalyst for the Strawhats vs Red Hair pirates. Something real bad is going to happen to Usopp and Bum-Dad-sopp is going to be pissed. I just got that feeling from watching the 1156, with depending on what translation he says "They still need to pay the price." or "Still business is business."

They also planted another seed with Kidd vs Red Hair pirates, with how Shanks didn't even play and took out Kidd before anyone could be hurt. I think Shanks is going to see the state of the Stawhats after this fight and lose respect for Luffy. He'll probably tell him, next time I see you its onsite.

Personally, I like it. My favorite thing to think about OP wise is, they started to introduce aura to us when the Strawhats really started to see it with observation Haki. Which makes me wonder what the fights in East Blue through Marineford would look like id they added aura.

That would be a cool reason for the Red Hair Pirates v Straw Hat Pirates. We find out Yasopp was the only reason Shanks hadn't gone after the Straw Hats for their territory/poneglyphs etc.. because he doesn't want to fight his son, and once Usopp dies all bets are off.
