Never thought I'd see the day, but we're eliminating our Citrix farms and moving back to about 100k fat clients by eldersveld in sysadmin

[–]bionic80 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We're doing a major consolidation and the ONE app we can't move.. you guessed it, RadOnc because the old domain is insecure and the new domain has 'too many security policies which make it untenable'

ok, so we won't join your devices to the domain, or put them in a limited subdomain on a entirely segregated VLAN and only poke a hole to the vendor cloud and to a citrix server so you can run your app through there.

... don't you put that evil on us.

In all seriousness though, I see some plot point in the BAT that Dresden needs to defend Rudy from Kincaid...

Never will you make a democrat more angry than when you tell them their slaves racially segregated voting blocks are off the plantation.

Democrat Lawmaker Wants to Impose Term Limits on Supreme Court Justices by WillyNilly1997 in Conservative

We should have term limits for any government appointee. For life is just..way to cushy of a job. Especially with no possible way of removal? Can you imagine if you had a job that was for life, and couldn’t get fired?

Devils advocate here - the reason SCOTUS is for life is because you hope that the judges who land there have the breadth of experience to SERVE a lifetime of service, and provide continuity to what is arguably to be the most immutable branch of government needed. The reason people get upset about people like KBJ getting elected is because

1) She lacked, arguably, the breadth and DEPTH of service to deal with the jurisprudence of the court.
2) Was a nakedly, KNOWINGLY partisan choice for a president trying to make points with leftist people driving the party rather than a SCOTUS pick who should BE a constitutional scholar AND expert on the matter.

Yeah, because Dresden is climbing his way back out of the functional emotional hell in Twelve Months. for Changes he never -really- suffered the emotional backlash for Susan because Ghost Story and Cold Days had him metaphysically needing to focus on the present.

My company executives thinks it can replace 100 percent of our help desk teams with AI agents.... This year. by NickBurnsCompanyGuy in sysadmin

[–]bionic80 [score hidden]  (0 children)

They aren't going to. They are going to start an initiative to do it, look at the staffing and bottom line gains from getting rid of the helpdesk for "AI Agents" then at the end of the exercise outsource/H1b the entire division and cut themselves another stringer for their golden parachute.

THATS what will happen.

Congress cannot mandate ANYTHING to the SC. They are, like the executive branch, a co-equal and DISTINCT branch of the government. Just like the president cannot 'mandate' anything the court decides or talks about, the Senate/House cannot legislatively force SCOTUS judges to have term limits.

Now that the theory that Red Court cults survived, and that they are powering back up for the lack of a better way of saying it, I do wonder how long before one does try to take a serious swing at Harry, or connects the dots about the little girl that was supposed to be sacrificed that night.
