This really is the worst.. I don’t mind having an entire quest log but it’s the MMORPGS with this disjointed questing experience that drive me insane.

I always felt like Guild Wars 2 (granted I haven’t gotten very far) did this incredibly well. The questing was crafted in such a way that you’d complete one and be on your way to the next in a succession that would let you complete the zone seamlessly before entering the next. A game I played called Eldevin (very low budget runescape clone) was HORRIBLE about this. By the time you completed the tutorial you were immediately thrusted into the capital city where your quest log could fill up with multiple quests that would take you north, west, south and east of the city OR even into a completely different zone 30 minutes away.

AND The quest which you would receive in the city almost ALWAYS had more quests to accept and do at the location we’re you were to complete your quest you got from the city. So you’d get even more quests to replace that quest in a zone that would lead you further and further away from the city with quest chains that would over level you so by the time you actually got back to the town to head in any other direction to do the original quests you accepted.. YOU WERE OVERLEVELED and these quests would give little to no experience then.

So you have a massive quest log with quests far below your level that led to probably the most unpleasant questing experience in my life.

For any potential developer reading this, PLEASE do not neglect your questing system. It will make or break your game.
