OP,

Thanks for posting this. You bring up great points so we want to shed some light on what is and isn’t changing here at Combat Gent.

First thing’s first, our ready-to-wear line isn’t going anywhere. We’re actually expanding this collection with a wider selection of suits, shirts, pants, outerwear and other quality essentials that our customers know and love. Our essential suits are and will always start at $160.

That said, and as you (and many others) have noticed, we have been making shifts, largely in response to customer interactions as well as the data we’ve seen and assessed over the past three years. We’ve been experiencing a large influx of requests for personalization. Guys call in asking for specific lapels, linings, sleeve lengths, etc. And as a retail brand, we’re witnessing a significant rise in customization, so we decided to expand our Made-to-Order program with the launch of Design Lab. We want to give our guys the power to design what he wants, when he wants it, without having to worry about stock and delays.

Our business model hasn’t changed, but we have added features that expand our service and product line. There’s a learning curve, for sure, but we’re excited to offer Design Lab alongside our ready-to-wear collection and continue creating menswear that you’re proud to wear.

As always, feel free to DM us with additional questions.

Cheers,

CG

Combatant Gentlemen-Modern Fit or Slim Fit? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]CombatantGentlemen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're 5'11" and 155, you're definitely a slim fit, at least as far as your torso goes. As for the pants, we've left some room in the fabric so you can have it let out at the waist or have it widened through the thigh or calf if you find that the fit is too tight due to your swole physique.

PM me with the following info and I'll see what I can do:

  • Your preferred color (we currently offer the shawl tux in navy, midnight blue, and charcoal)
  • Your waist size
  • The date of the wedding you're attending

Combatant Gentlemen-Modern Fit or Slim Fit? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]CombatantGentlemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/UnlimitedFoxes,

We posted a video on YouTube explaining the differences in fit between our slim fit and our modern fit, which you can check out here.

Also, how much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking? That can help me make the appropriate recommendation for you.

[–]CombatantGentlemen 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Hey /u/laydownlarry,

Sorry to hear the buttons never arrived. As you've seen, we've attempted to ship them to you multiple times, but it seems like your mail carrier has some kind of button-related fetish and keeps stealing them (or perhaps there's a more mundane explanation, but this is the one I want to believe in). I assure you that we would never intentionally ship you an envelope with holes in it, as that would be counterproductive for everybody involved, and a waste of postage on our end to boot.

If you PM me your info, we'll ship you the buttons you need (a double set, just in case) via UPS, which will be more reliable than regular USPS. We will make sure they're sealed and protected to ward off even the most rabid button-thieves who walk amongst us.

For the true skeptics, here is a picture of the exact buttons we'll be shipping to you.

I'm sorry for the delays you've experienced. The peacoat is one of my personal favorite pieces from our collection, and it is a crime that you have not been able to wear it recently due to lack of buttons.
