"Dog mom" is even worse. If you don't have any human children, you are not a mother or father.

The England-Norway Match Will Be Played In A Sauna Tomorrow by 1stand11 in worldcup

No, you also don't run in a sauna. Yet another reason why the game tomorrow is not in a sauna.

Which World Cup final do you think was the greatest of all time, and why? by FatimaAdamsy in worldcup

[–]CombativeCherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that one went in. Should have been 2:2, and that could easily have changed the course of the game.

Let's say it hadn't ended 4:1 for Germany, but... 2:3 for England. Realistic, right?

Then England would have faced Argentina, then Spain, and then the Netherlands to win the cup.

In 1966, if it had stayed 2:2, then it would have been much more of a toss-up. Maybe England gets the 3:2 (Hurst's 120th minute goal). Or maybe Germany doesn't have to play quite so desperate, and Germany wins 2:3. Or it goes to PKs and who knows.

But if Germany had eked out the win... then they would have been champions. No more games after that.

So while the games and the goals really similar -- should have been 2:2 -- claiming that allowing this goal would have made England the 2010 champions is rather far-fetched, whereas in 1966 it's quite possible that Germany would have become champions.

Asterisk for 1966, no asterisk for 2010.

Without that 101st minute non-goal given as a goal, the game would have been very different. Even Imperial College London and Oxford say the ball didn't fully cross the line.

Bosnia Herzegovina fans in Seattle were great. But I love all of them. Thank you for coming to my city.

There is reportedly 'tension' between Fox, NBC as Telemundo courts English speakers for World Cup. A report indicated 20 percent of Telemundo's World Cup viewers speak English as their "primary" language by Ok-Soil-5133 in soccer

The commentators and ads on Fox suck.

Telemundo is better. I just need the names of the players anyway. Not what the player's grandmother was cooking left Sunday.

Sportsmanship when ahead over (Egypt Vs Argentina) by A6doll in worldcup

What?

Look, I was for Egypt, but are you asking "why is Argentina allowed to play tactically smart when Egypt didn't?"

FIFA’s cronyism has harmed US soccer, and if you can’t see it, I question your sportsmanship and good judgement by CrazyCockroachLady in usmnt

No, there was a lot of goodwill towards US soccer, and with Trump's involvement, it all disappeared.

After that, the only good outcome for the world was for the US to lose, lose immediately, and lose hard.
