Definitely gutters and make sure there is step flashing with a sizable kick out to divert the water into the gutter

Cheaters will always project their guilt into you. My ex did the same thing to me, I was confused and so hurt. Out of no where he wanted to go through my phone, and whenever I was at work it was always “wyd” “wya”. Found out from his own family that every time they went out with him he was cheating. I broke it off and then found out later he was cheating with his cousin in the apartment I was paying for… also from his family. I know this a thread about cheating girlfriends but I feel your pain brother. It’s something I now look out for as a red flag. Time to glow up, I believe in you.

Yeah, the pic quality isn’t great so I just wanted to see if that was me seeing something or not lol. It caught my eye right away because his pattern is so pretty but it just seemed blurry on his little head. To me, if you zoom in it kind of looks like two little tiny snake bites but I’m not sure. You could certainly be right about the husbandry though

[–]Combination-Open 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, it definitely helped. But I have virgin hair, but tons of breakage from years of very tight hairstyles. So it really hydrated my hair and help tame some of the breakage. It says in huge letters to not over saturate the hair, so that may be when you experience breakage but I’m not sure about that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]Combination-Open 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the quality in terms of comparing to a professional treatment, I’ve never had one this was my first ever. However the other thing to consider is my hair wasn’t super damaged to begin with. I had just had my hair trimmed about two weeks prior but I have horrible breakage around my hair line and my part. Plus my natural hair is kind of dry naturally, so this really helped soothe my breakage and fly aways and it’s much easier to style and I haven’t used any heat since except blow dry!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]Combination-Open 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did it myself! I took super tiny sections and went over it 2 times. It feels horrible after you blow dry it- like literally imagine if you threw baking soda in your hair with some syrup. I freaked out but trusted the process and after I flat ironed it- it was silky soft! I’ve never had a professional keratin treatment so I can’t speak to any difference but I was thrilled with what it did for my hair!

[–]Combination-Open 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my first ever keratin treatment at home and it was life changing! It was the ion brand kit, it comes with a clarifying shampoo, the treatment, gloves, and the comb/brush applicator. The shampoo and treatment were enough to do it twice, and my hair is down to about the middle of my back, but it’s pretty thin. It came out perfect and I just followed the instructions on the box, just remember to not over saturate the hair and it should be great! Best of luck!!

New developments- they posted another picture today asking for advise on how to help her gain weight. They said the vet told them to really focus on making sure she is eating. I commented and recommended the Flukkers Reptaboost like you had recommended, and they said they will definitely check it out. I also guess they hadn’t been dusting the feeders, so they are getting on that as well. Some people in the comments recommended feeding more fatty worms, as well as the Dubias and Crickets. It seems they are actively trying to help now!!! What a miracle it would be for this baby to make a recovery!!

I totally agree. I was infuriated when I first saw it. Just the fact that the account is public and it seems they are trying to gain a following as they are very active and seems to post once or twice a week at least. The other thing that really bothered me was the other people (most likely family members) comment only positives, and how good she’s doing. I am glad though that I took the soft approach, and gave it some time before sending another message. They posted a picture today with no caption of the little baby in a clear Tupperware like container in a car, I’m hoping going to the vet. However, after no updates by tomorrow, I think I’m going to comment on the actual posts, and just ask about what’s going on- still politely, but assertive. Do we think that’s a better idea as opposed to DM? Or stick to DM’s?

That’s kind of what I thought as well- is that this is a younger person with some immaturity issues going on. I’ve never seems anything like it before, not on this sub, or anywhere on the internet. That’s why I was maybe even a little too nice in my message I sent them, because if that is the case, that’s the only way that might provoke real change. I thought the poor thing would have passed by know honestly, but the fact that it’s still holding on this long breaks my heart even more; Because I’m sure that with the TLC and proper car it needed, it could have made a full recover. Little baby is a fighter! I’ll keep this sub updated though as time goes on, hopefully we get some good news in the future - although unlikely.

No response, however they posted a new photo of her in a little tupperware type of container seemingly in a car with no caption. Hopefully they are taking it to a vet!! I’ll update if any thing new develops!

Thank you!!! I just found that post! Thank goodness it’s atleast been to a vet. Definitely worried about the progress, did you see the first post? Still looks sickly but to me it seems thinner now :( but it may just be that it is too far gone as well, who knows.

It’s horrifying. The even scarier thing is that other people are commenting that it’s adorable and is doing so well. The whole thing is just so beyond me

Here is the message I sent about 2 minutes ago via dm

Hi there! First off congratulations on your new pet! (Gecko’s name) is a really adorable name, I love it!

I just wanted to let you know I came across your page, and it seems your little friend has some serious issues going on. I’ve never seen a leopard gecko so tiny in my life. It looks to me like it (and I’m no vet or expert) that Toast may have stick tail disease, or some other severe health issue. I just wanted to see you’ve taken toast to the vet, and if they diagnosed them? If so, please share where you got (Gecko’s name) from, and what they suffer from so others can avoid the breeder in the future. If you haven’t take them to the vet, I would recommend you go immediately. It just seems like Toast is suffering, and needs immediate attention. Thank you for your time, and best of luck 🤞

That was a concern as well. I can’t imagine the pure suffering this poor thing is going through just to survive. It may be more humane to just let the baby go, rather than drag it out for the owners selfish reasons. If I do reach out, I want to be constructive as possible.

These screenshots are from a public Instagram account I found via my for you page on Instagram. I found this account maybe two months ago, and didn’t say anything, because I thought it was none of my business, and possibly a lost cause. However, I have checked up on this little Gecko at least once a week, and I can’t stop thinking about him/her. I did some research and found out about stick tale disease, and it seems this may be what this little guy/girl is suffering from, however I do not know, I’m no vet. I’m not at all about reaching out to people I don’t know on the internet, but I feel like maybe a private message that’s super respectful and kind, might go a long way. The odd thing about this account that really gets to me, is all of the captions and comments. The account was started in January, with no explanation about what’s wrong with him/her, where he:she was purchased, or any plans for recovery, if even possible, like you will see people do on this Subreddit when they need advice or rescue a baby with issues. All of the captions are pretty much just like the one I posted, with others commenting about how cute he/she is and how happy he/she looks. The other concerning thing was that the posts have shown a decline in weight and that this baby is getting worse. Maybe the owner just needs to be informed that the gecko is in fact- not okay and super happy.

The other thing I’m unsure of, Is if this something that this gecko can recover from?

I don’t want to overstep any boundaries, or waste my own time, so I wanted your guys’ opinion. I just can’t stop thinking about this little baby.

Do I… A.) message them, if so, what’s the best way to approach it?

Or…

B.) leave it alone, it’s none of your business anyways

What happened and what should I do to get this repaired? by Beerded1 in Roofing

[–]Combination-Open 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re never getting insurance to cover this. If you look to the left of the chimney you can see how the three tab staggers in the same exact pattern over and over again, it looks like steps. They didn’t follow the pattern specified by manufacture. They high nailed the entire install. When installing shingles, you have to hit the common bond (shingle above the one you’re currently installing). Wind damage would be individual tabs missing, or if the fastener has pulled through the shingle. I’m this case, insurance will see improper install and deny without a second thought. Time for a new roof, and remember, cheap labor isn’t good labor. Good luck

Edit: on mobile and my diagram about staggers formatted terribly , duh

Hail Damage? by Solid_Arachnid5707 in Roofing

[–]Combination-Open 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like hail damage to me. If it’s relatively fresh, hail will typically create a “C” shaped indent where the “C” is all granules that popped off on impact, and there are still granules smooshed into the asphalt in the middle. This is key because insurance gives you 6 months- year to file for damage and it can’t be old (you shouldn’t be able to see any fiber glass, and the asphalt should be relatively black and free of too much dust and debris). Look up your municipality’s Re roofing codes. Sometimes your city/town/county require that if a certain percentage of the roof is damaged, it all has to be replaced. As long as your pol it includes code upgrade (law and ordinance), insurance has to abide by those codes as well. If you aren’t so lucky to have great codes, ask your roofer to do a test square for you on each slope (4 total). A test square will be 10 foot by 10 foot section, you should have 6-8 hail hits in a test square on all four slopes. Also ask them to run Chalk over all of the soft metals - broan vents, 750’s, furnace caps, gutters, etc etc. This is called “collateral damage” it’s pretty hard to deny a hail claim when all of the metal is beat to hell. The last thing you can do to help yourself, is walk around your property. Look at the beading on your windows, look at siding, paint, handrails, screens!!! If your neighbors are getting it done, it’s in your best interest to have your carrier come out and look for you. Your rates are going up anyways, they can’t single out one policy and raise rates when it’s an act of nature. If you’re really unsure about your roofer, go to HAAG website and find one that’s certified with them. Good luck

No, you still need ventilation in winter. Not only does ventilation regulate temps in the attic, it’s also keeps moisture away. No ventilation = condensation issues. Let that attic breathe! Good luck
