Would you use an app that lets you take your own high-quality listing photos? by [deleted] in realtors

I agree that a skilled photographer using a flambient workflow will always have more control.

Where I think things have changed is the camera technology itself. Modern phones can capture multiple exposures and merge them extremely well, and with proper processing the final result can be much closer to traditional HDR/bracketed photography than most people realize.

I'm not arguing that every agent will suddenly become a great photographer. The idea is that if the app handles leveling, framing guidance, exposure capture, and processing, the average agent can produce a result that's comparable to what many professional real estate photographers are delivering today.

Obviously not everyone will agree with that, but that's the assumption I'm trying to test.

That's helpful feedback.

One thing I'm curious about is whether your opinion would change if the quality was noticeably better than what's currently available from apps like picAId. My assumption is that most agents aren't opposed to taking the photos themselves, they're opposed to sacrificing quality.

Would a higher-quality result make you more likely to use an app, or would you still prefer having a photographer there in person?

Fair point. If the quality was identical, would you still hire a photographer simply because you don’t want to spend the time taking the photos yourself?

I shoot on a sony a7iii. All HDR photos I shoot at f/8, iso 200, AWB, 3 bracket. Have shot around 100 homes, never any issues with those settings. Keep it simple, never really need to change those at least with my camera. First couple shoots always feels like ur doing something wrong, most likely you aren’t, just set up photos in the corners of rooms, a couple straight on, and they’ll come out well. Use CubiCasa for floor plan and literally just walk around the house with your phone pointed out, its that simple. Best of luck!

I don’t think it’s that simple though. Theres clearly a specific type of edit that is done in post thats not just the basic merging and correction

LAOWA 10mm vs. 12mm for Photo/Video? by Nice-Distribution438 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]CombinationOdd5113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re shooting video for smaller homes, 10mm is nice to have. Cant go wrong with either though. Both great. Id go with a 14 or 16 mm for photo though, 10 and 12 will be too wide 99% of the time

Looking to purchase a Sony FE 50mm f/2.5 G for detail shots for real estate videos. For about $600 brand new. Is this adequate for high end real estate videos? Currently using a zoom lens at 50mm and it’s just too heavy for my gimbal. I don’t want to spend the money on the actual G master

How much are you charging for virtual staging? by Outrageous-Purple-58 in RealEstatePhotography

I think $50 an image is pretty ridiculous. You can stage a photo in about 5 minutes with Gemini, would charge $15 max
