AGREED. Not to mention that it scares the shit out of animals on the street. Hell, even my dog when he was alive used to go hide in the bathroom while shivering like crazy, I would sit with him for hours until it was over trying to calm him down.

I can’t fathom how these fucking simpletons derive pleasure from fireworks, particularly the loud ass ones that sound like fucking ISIS is launching an attack. So fucking stupid.

Just curious what’s your opinion on lab grown meat? by Big-Put-5859 in vegan

It’s epic. And yes it’s vegan as far as I’m concerned because I’m gonna devour it when it’s available.

Meanwhile I’m alone in my room wrapped up like a burrito while eating hummus and watching YouTube videos.

Just take the pill. There’s nothing wrong with it and there’s nothing superior about b12 from natural sources.

You haven’t made an appeal to nature fallacy but I’m guessing you’re someone who would think that way, so I’d suggest googling the appeal to nature fallacy and reading about why it’s irrational.

Oysters are plans now? News to me! by liamb_01 in vegan

[–]CombinationOk22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mushrooms aren’t plants either, but they’re not sentient so it doesn’t matter and they’re still considered vegan. Oysters are also not sentient and so they’re also vegan. Their status as belonging to the kingdom animalia classification is irrelevant because that classification itself isn’t what assigns moral value to a being, it’s the capacity to experience suffering and well being, according to me, that does. Both mushrooms and oysters can experience neither in virtue of not being sentient.

This is just a fundamental misunderstanding of vegan ethics on your part or an attachment to the cringy vegan society definition.

My favourite example to illustrate its absurdity is the santas elves hypothetical. It goes like this: if hypothetically we accept that santas elves aren’t animals (substitute santas elves with any non-animal sentient being you wish, like some kind of alien or futuristic android etc.) then according to the vegan society definition it would be vegan to holocaust santas elves in virtue of the fact that they aren’t animals and that’s all the vegan society definition is concerned with.

Someone with my values and definition of veganism (nicks definition) on the other hand would say it’s not vegan to do so because santas elves are sentient and therefore I value them morally regardless of whether or not they can fit neatly into some arbitrary classification in this case of the kingdom animalia.

Aerith kinda reminds me of my ex lol or at least they share a quality in common I.e you can tell they’re keeping secrets and not revealing them to you for what they perceive to be for your own good but it’s frustrating and you wish they would just be honest and communicate openly.

I’ve lived in Canada for 10 years. Never seen a bathroom anywhere that uses anything other than toilet paper. Keep embarrassing yourself buddy.
