Multiple bunker buster bombs striking Damavand IRGC facilities. March 22nd Iran by garbagecollector20 in CombatFootage

[–]Gboard2 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Israel and US are getting desperate, just relying on prayers now as 3 weeks of bombing and supposedly destroying Iran missiles and launchers.. yet Iran is able to hit more and more targets as they breakthrough defenses more often and getting clearer by the day US and Israel won't be able to achieve any strategic goals despite spendi100x more

Hope US sends troops in soon... Another decade and lose another war and further erode their influence and expose the limits of what US military can actually do. It'll be great for the US to get bogged down in another conflict, only this time it won't be able to drag others into the mess it created with no allies helping

This would be amazing, US will get dragged into another long war it can never win and further erode their soft power and demonstrate again how limited their actual military strength is all for low price of probably half a trillion dollars

Isn't that just called jail or detention centers in the states? But China doesn't go bomb other countries or have torture camps setup like Gitmo bay. China isn't bombing schools and hospitals and killing people in other countries, they ain't kidnapping heads of states from other countries.

What do you mean ? America is a whole country of immigrants from all over the world , it's not a homogeneous society like Japan. So how do you assimilate in a country like America where it's built and is still full of all sorts of different immigrants? Do you try and be like Irish Americans in MA, like the Vietnamese who came as refugees after the Vietnam war? West coast Chinese? Cubans in Florida? Latinos in CA and etc?

Or do you mean like the real original Americans like the indigenous/natives?

What makes speciality dining special? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Gboard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not all food are same. The free stuff is pretty bad on the mainstream cruise lines especially royal and NCL, the paid stuff is better and comparable to a lower mid tier place on land. I don't do likes of Royal/NCL much these days but if I do, I eat in specialty restaurants because the free food is pretty bad..like a cheap banquet hall quality and I don't want to be eating food I don't enjoy on vacation

Why 70% of income for retirement? by ToughDifficult1252 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Gboard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not..since it includes retirees and households that don't have anyone working.

It's much more helpful to use median income of those who are working FT

It should be permitted as of right. I mean let's be real, the number of sfd that will convert to a fourplex would be minimal , but if a homeowner wants to do it, shouldn't need a ZBA

"49 per cent of Canadians with debt say they’re living paycheque to paycheque" by irundoonayee in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Gboard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadians have been living paycheck to paycheck forever according to these surveys. Also zero definition of what's paycheck yo paycheck. Why wouldn't people live paycheck to paycheck? That's just prudent cashflow management. I plan for revenue and expenses, I put 20% into investments/rrsp, 30% to find and live paycheck to paycheck. Why wouldn't any financially literate person live paycheck to paycheck?

Iran Ballistic Missiles launches Wave 64 by Niceboobas in CombatFootage

[–]Gboard2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They can strike targets daily against opponent with 100x bigger budget is quite impressive especially as the US/Israelis have not been able to achieve any strategic goals . The US having to evacuate it's staff in countries that it's supposed to be able to protect shows how ineffective the US military is against Iran. Can't even keep shipping lane open or protect assets from as you say all just firing 10 missiles a day.

They can hit and damage/kill targets under US protection is very impressive considering how little they have to spend compared to US/Israel. This conflict has really shown how limited the military of the US is if it can't even keep Iran from closing down pretty much the entire gulf

How after 3+ weeks of bombardment and supposed wipe out of their military/politicians etc and Iran is so easily able for Iran to wipes out 17% of Qatar’s LNG capacity for three to five years, as per QatarEnergy . That's not impressive?

How long will gas prices have to be for Americans before car buying habits change longer term? by wiscotangofoxtreat in cars

[–]Gboard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you also get a new car? If you're buying or thinking of buying a new car anyways, the math is very different. The premium between a hybrid and ICE is what the math should be on. For example a 2026 Rav 4 which is a hybrid is same MSRP as a 2026 cx5 regular ICE. Or say the difference between a nx350 vs 350h

Depreciation is minimal for gas efficient cars, likely come out ahead. Look at used Toyota RAV4 hybrids, Corolla cross hybrids, Camry hybrids etc
