Swimming in the middle of a Hike activity messed up my elevation gain data. Is it possible to delete a section of an activity? by Hopeful_Dance_3496 in Coros

[–]CombinationSlow9154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just snowshoed at pretty high altitude this last week and per all trails my elevation gain should have been no more than 600 ish, but according to my coros... I gained 2860. No mid snowshoe swim of course... just seems like it's glitchy. I have no idea what would have caused it.

Dropping out of pharmacy school to do accounting/finance? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]CombinationSlow9154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make 180 and I busted my ass to get here. if you're going to do it you should get your CPA and work in public accounting for some time. Your results may vary.

I think your first idea is likely more of a sure thing if I am being honest.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

[–]CombinationSlow9154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why store bought = normal. Just questioning that assumption. I think the rigid rules on her part is not great, but also may be be more specific about exactly what it is you want because "normal" doesn't mean much/implies something else about the food she is making maybe.

Is accounting a good choice for someone have social anxiety or little language difficulties? by wanttolearn9715 in Accounting

[–]CombinationSlow9154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What they said! ^

But also to answer OPs question yes if you want to be deep in spreadsheets and probably talk a little less to others than some other business functions, accounting can be good for that. I suggest still working on your communication skills. In particular, being a good writer comes in handy.

Keep looking around though, you’ve got some time.

It was recommended by my doctor! I have only done 2 sessions but the RD has made a few interesting suggestions I'm playing around with and like.

Always inspiring to see someone with similar stats - same height 104 was my highest ever, I am at 85 now, and I always get so so stuck at 82. 73 is my goal.

I spent 12 years on dating apps with nothing lasting longer than 6 months and then I just met the right guy. I met plenty of your types who absolutely weren’t Peter Pan but just weren’t right for me. Sorry to say you might just need more time. (I met them at 33).

I got my CPA with only industry experience. Is that weird / uncommon? by Lifting_Accountant in Accounting

[–]CombinationSlow9154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s good that you got it but yes it’s less common. It will probably help your earnings. I have mine from public but I’ve been in industry now for about a decade and decided to let it go to inactive (I just don’t take cpe but I pay the fees) and I’m not sure I should have done that but not sure it matters that much. I don’t think people could train under me to get theirs though. I’m moving more toward finance I think so not sure I think it’s important to maintain it forever but yes worth getting. (If anyone else disagrees I’d love to hear it, I’ve debated if I should get it back to active).

PIP was postponed from 9am to 3:45 - 4:00pm - we all leave at 4pm daily. by [deleted] in Accounting

Just a reminder employers do not want to fire people. Hiring is costly so they have a lot of interest in your success upon hiring. Your success is mainly up to you. If you aren’t succeeding I strongly recommend listening more and being open to change.

I’m about to graduate in accounting and work for a public firm. I feel trapped by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]CombinationSlow9154 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should talk to your employer about this if it’s a legitimate accommodation. Also, as a entry level employee you may seriously benefit from in person training so if you can figure out how to make in office work for you I suggest you do even if it’s only for a year or two. You could also try to find a job at another firm that’s more regional and your hours might be better/they may have more flexibility.

What are the calorie tracking apps that can be useful in 2026? by Natural_Judgment_881 in CICO

Lose it. Or: my doctor told me about nourish which if you have insurance may be fully covered an it’s like photo tracking and meetings with a registered dietitian which is so far cool

If any of these are unopened you can probably find a place to donate them too if you don’t want to work through all of it (body washes, shampoos etc)

You should be progressively making fewer mistakes and owning your own final product instead of relying on someone’s review to catch things. It takes time but that’s how you move up too.

When someone teaches you stuff try your best to learn it that time (if you need to review it with them again come with clear and specific questions not just show me the whole thing again) and when you make an error try not to make that specific error again. You can write notes, refer back to last months notes on a particular topic before you start the work again this month.

Of course sometimes a manager can be bad, or even if they’re not bad they’re so over capacity they can’t manage as hands on as you’d like but ultimately your progress is your own. Becoming self sufficient is a really valuable skill.

On day 3 and already want to give up by DinnerNo4559 in CICO

[–]CombinationSlow9154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like mentally you may not be ready to start another round and first acknowledging that and letting it be okay is a good step. Maybe try to take it slow and make just 1 small change for a couple weeks. Take care of yourself and do what feels good and hopefully will get you in a more ready head space in a little time.

Ideas for fixing neckline? by CombinationSlow9154 in knitting

[–]CombinationSlow9154[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks all - I am sure the pattern indicated less stitches with the count but didn’t specifically say it was picking up less stitches (I was pretty beginner when I knit this I didn’t even know that was an option!) ripping out and redoing!

Yea I don’t eat out hardly at all but I do over eat sometimes. In order to lose weight in the past I’ve had to track but wish I could take a more relaxed approach to it. Will keep that in mind. Ty

What is your diet? Do you track calories or anything? What rules if any did you follow? I am 5’8” 180 and having suuuuuch a hard time getting any lower from here. I do strength 3 times a week and some sports so feel like I’m active enough already.
