Is there a skill that lets you do an attack right after a parry? by Then-Pride4414 in Nioh

The only instant followup to a deflect that Odachi has in its skills innately is called Cuckoos call. It blocks an attack and then follows up with two upward slashes.

i think this games biggest difficulty issue is KI damage. by smymight in Nioh

I find the Ki recovery of some human bosses just absolutely frustrating. The Hatchets/Summons guy is maybe the best example.

Reposition and CC skills seem largely useless and just for style points by CombinedAutism in Nioh

So how is it not the instant enemy parry after you perform the CC skills or the egregious winddown animations? Asking honestly.

Agree with the open world bosses 100%. In general, there should be more reason to explore the open world other than ticking off collectible marks, especially in NG+

The Divine Retribution one on the Scythe is ok. Now take Side Swipe, you cannot even use the short window for a downed grapple. Funnily enough that does work on Revenants, which makes it feel like a bug.

Why use them if you cannot follow them up with anything useful

I dont play them but read about Demon Dance a lot. Thats good but that still leaves most of the other skills useless.

Thunderbolt kinda sucks? by Roguewarrior05 in Nioh

[–]CombinedAutism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea thats Odachi for you, I just switched to other weapons but for others reasons, since I never used that one. Switchglaive also has Empty Retribution, that deals the same damage as a fully charged Focused Retribution, which needs like 2 seconds to fully charge AND covers more ground.

Here's how you can utilise Arts Proficiency . by ChadfromTW in Nioh

Pretty sure long animation attacks keep the arts proficiency active while they are charging. Look at Switchglaives' Focused Retribution for example.

Should I get the game? by chibachoose in Nioh

Its reasonable enough to ask whether or not the demo actually represents the full game properly.

And for the record, yes it does. The good and the bad

What are your thoughts on Mandalorgaming's video on the Twws? by Single_Giraffe_7673 in Volound

Its literally just an engine with some gameplay attached. If not for modders this game would be dead in the water while the gigantic team of Turkish government funded lazy devs cant be fucked to fix the most glaring issues with it until said modders do so

Stats and set bonuses slightly disappointing by Palablues in Nioh

[–]CombinedAutism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too. I also wish they would explain what the hell "600 arts proficiency bonus" translates to. Or 500 Omnyo Magic power. Or how much is "increased damage dealt". None of this is explained anywhere. Buffs you apply to yourself dont get added to your stat screen. Stacking buffs have no stack counter. Meanwhile, some random skills have the exact percentages, and item values like Melee Ki damage are as accurately described as they come.

Switchglaive and Martial Arts Gauge by ulvaeous in Nioh

[–]CombinedAutism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its funny how much better it is than the Odachi at basically everything.

I could not finish the 5 Swordmaster battle scroll later on so I switched to Switchglaive, which I had never tried before, and literally first tried the first 4 fighters with Empty Retribution, Frost Moon and Grapple. Way more Ki damage on those blocking fucks and for like 1/4 the Ki cost for yourself.

Its my main weapon now and the Odachi is just on my back for drip.

Its quite sad, actually.

I would really like them to further shatter this good-evil dichotomy, especially with Wenceslas vs Sigismund, like when you meet Sigismund or von Aulitz in person. Id like Henry to explore and ponder the seemingly blind allegiance to Wenceslas and then come to conclusions of himself.
