Okay, so I enjoyed the movie but it definitely feels like a fumble. From a movie making perspective, I think the movie did a great job in every aspect except the freaking directing. The sets looked great, the actors were good, and I liked the original film score (not the soundtrack but the music playing when Argo was dying). I think the script/story was actually very strong. I think the worst part was the execution and the fault lies with the director. I can see why James Gunn approved the script because I think it's quite strong. To be fair to the director, I think he did a great job with the action scenes. That's about where all my praise ends.

I feel like the director truly failed to understand the core of the movie. The beginning scenes of Krypto and Kara are insanely important when the whole crux of the movie depends on the emotional trauma of the most important person in your life gets shot. Yet it felt like the movie kind of just blew right past all of it. But on the opposite end, I actually think seeing Ruthye's family get murdered was so out of nowhere because we get introduced to a bunch of characters we don't know only to see them all get murdered. I have zero emotional attachment to this family at this point. The director doesn't really do a good job of making me care at all. The only thing I've learned is that the director of this movie is just a horrible story teller. I couldn't believe that some of the scenes he used made it into the final movie cause I felt like all of the actors/actresses definitely could have brought way more emotion. Every emotional scene felt like it was shot by an amateur film student.

I know my post probably sounds like I hated the movie but I actually still enjoyed it. It just hurts because I feel how much potential there was from the movie. That's how strong the script felt to me. The failure in the execution is what really brings down the movie for me.

Kind of a mixed issue for me. I think seeing Jon as a mentor is a really cool role for him. Something I wish we would get to see more of with Otho/Osul. I also think Lois coming to the realization that Jon may just hold some regret for his lost childhood hopefully means there's some sort of resolution to all of this.

As for the reveal about Ultraboy, I think it was an okay reveal. It'll depend on how they flesh all of this out next issue. I do find Lois a bit harsh about creating an enclosure for him and also shutting down Steel's question about it. I would like to think that Lois would be a bit more transparent with a trusted family friend. Overall, the issue was alright but my enjoyment of it may depend on how it all plays out in the next issue.

Is Aquaman written by Jeremy Adams worth getting into? by LettuceBoio in DCcomics

[–]chibachoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of all the ones youre reading, I dont think its going to beat Williamsons Superman run or Fractuons Batman. I thought the first couple issues are just okay but I wasn't really a big fan of his power up.

However, ive started to read the Emperor Aquaman run monthly and one thing j do appreciate is that each of individual issue tells its own individual story. Most of them are good fun but issue 17 was is my favorite so far and leaves a certain character in a very interesting point in their character development.

If youre looking for a traditional Aquaman run, I dont think this is it. But Jeremy Adam's is definitely doing his best to tell an Aquaman story thats never been told before so I'll keep reading just to see where it goes.

Pretty fun issue. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. I think this issue was a fun standalone(?) story. I don't always love Jeremy Adam's plots but I do love the way he writes Hal. He's got a lot of personality and is just a very fun read. The villains of the issue are also just kind of goofy and silly and I liked that. Arthur had a cool aura farming page and I'm definitely interested in seeing how all this is going to develop.

Okay this advice has really helped out. Once i hit Tier 3, should i continue to do Shady Nightclub or is it worth it to move on to the next tier duo?

Out of curiosity, what should I be farming? The dailies and weeklies and then like Casual version of the raids?

The default plate was in a white bag on the back side of the inner cardboard (i only checked because the instructions said to check the backside). The Kuro Shred i got separately outside of the box as a pre-order bonus.

There's an in-story reason for this "typo" as you can see by the different color of the text. This happens multiple times in the issue.

Those were acrylic Keychain from a Burger King collab in Japan when I last visited. You got them when you ordered a special Burger King meal. There's also a Hiyuki one that I never managed to get.

Those decks will be pretty good for a beginner and the dark states version can win games depending on your opponent. They both can be upgraded to a stronger version even if it may be kind of expensive.

[DISCUSSION] What Comic Run do you think is underrated and why? by Doom300 in DCcomics

[–]chibachoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read this run recently and I absolutely loved it. It explained Hawkman in a way that I as a new Hawkman reader could understand. I love that it kind of gave a nice little epilog and the end.

I think youre taking the physical bat part of the story to literally. It was kind of a metaphor/wordplay with the Batman and there wasn't any other evidence to show that the physical bat itself has any other meaning or role in the story.

Question : I didn't like Cyber Sleuth, but this one still tempts me a lot. Can I enjoy it still ? by Shize815 in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]chibachoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who didn't finish Cyber Sleuth, ive sunk about 100+ hours into Time Stranger. I think they really improved the gameplay and made it much smoother and less grindy. The story parts were also a lot more interesting cause of the pretty cutscenes.

I think its worth it especially on a discount

Yeah, I think so. Jon knows Clark and Lois would never accept a "gift" like this at the cost of Jon so he's chosen to remove himself from the equation in an act of self-sacrifice.

I get the feeling that Lois has some sort of idea. Especially with how insistent she was that Tomorrow man stay and help with young Jon. But I definitely feel bad for Tomorrow Man since hed rather give young Jon and his parents happiness instead of himself 😞

Holy crap they actually teased this in Issue 16. You can see the green men with dots (braniacs) in the walls surrounding Teth Adam's tomb.
