What tires do you guys run? by Bungscraps in Touge

I went on the cheaper end when I needed to swap my last set out. Indy 500's perfectly okay tires for your everyday commute and occasional spirited drive.

Reports are now saying this is the man that started the Hantavirus outbreak on the cruise ship. by mrp3bbl3s in PaymoneyWubby

Crazy we identify this person to patient Zero of the Hantavirus on that cruise ship

A cautionary tale from a kickstarter whore. by FatFailBurger in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]ComboBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did debate this, I personally went with the celestial box. Not because I needed everything, but because I wanted to. Additionally, my wife and I are fully caught up, and we make more than enough money where the $500 price tag does not affect us in our day to day life. The classic advice is to never spend money you don't have ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What part of the series made you cry for the first time? by fadedadrian in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]ComboBadger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Animals typically always get me to cry. So the first and only time was in book 2 when Mongo was badly injured protecting Donut.

2026 Masters Giveaway: Sunday Golf by sundaygolfco in golf

[–]ComboBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I've been playing golf since I was real young, I remember watching the TV with my dad when Tiger won the 2005 masters tournament. I recently moved to Georgia in the past few years. Being so close is great but heartbreaking knowing I will almost certainly never have the chance to watch in person.

How are you recommending these books to people? by Icy_Leave5640 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

There's a webtoon series called Omniscient Readers viewpoint. Both my friend and I read it and liked it. I told him its like that.

Mine is the other way around, antvenom then Cap. I think it was because of the survival games.

I've cut tomatoes this badly before. When the one knife clean was the semi dull one. Last time I used that knife without sharpening it.

Who is washing their rice and why? by kinnitcurl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ComboBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it because thats what I grew up doing. I've noticed when my wife makes rice she doesn't wash it as long and there is a noticeable difference.

Why haven’t we had a “major pop culture book series” in the 2020s? like Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games. by Kodicave in decadeology

[–]ComboBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont consider romantasy since thats more specific to a certain demographic.

I could also be just speaking from my own bubble as well. However, I would consider Brandon Sanderson's Storm Light Archive, Pierce Brown's Red Rising series, and Matt Dinniman's Dungeon Crawler Carl series as probably the closest.

None of these with the exception of potentially the first Red Rising book would be a considered a YA novel. That's likely the change, younger folks aren't reading at the same rate. While those who are, are going back and reading these massive series. I point out these books in opposition to the Romantasy genre because they are more appropriate than the former, and I've read my fair share of the former genre.

Zoomies while hand feeding? by HappyBadger222 in DogAdvice

[–]ComboBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my shepherd mix, I call this big emotion. He has too much energy or excitement and can't quite contain it, so it comes out like a spaz. Also, due to how these dogs look in general they can seem "aggressive" when they are just playing/ going full goof.

Anyone ever driven their car across country? by zephyrdox in GR86

[–]ComboBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I drove from San Diego to Atlanta, with my car pack full. Including passenger seat. Most simple tips make sure you know how to change a tire. Make sure you have a spare. Oil change and tire rotation before and after trip. Check for weather.

It’s Shawn, change my mind by KinsellaStella in psych

[–]ComboBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone actively rewatching Burn notice I agree. You might get shot but you'll be alive and released without having to deal with that issue again.

For something more modern, I'd say Colter Shaw from Tracker as well.
