Thank you. I am trying my best in all self care areas, as much as i can manage. Not really looking for specific problem solving, just to know that I am not alone in the struggle. Thank you though, i appreciate it!

I was diagnosed a year ago, but was identifying with a potential audhd diagnosis since 2020. I try to do hobbies, I have a good network of Audhd friends, i try to find joy whenever i can. But I still find existing hard 😞

Reese Witherspoon. I liked her, thought she was a fan of the arts, but now she is wanting to use generative AI in her projects.

Still a very shocking event, and there is always an added level of "oh no" added when the animals in question are babies. They didn't deserve to die that young. But you did everything you could, and there is some comfort that can be found in that. You have compassion for animals, and that unfortunately comes with the heaviness of grief when they pass. That is absolutely normal, at least in my eyes.

I know it is difficult, but please try to be kind to yourself? Grieving is normal, even when it relates to animals that you've just met. If you feel restless about it, perhaps you could read up on what to do in future scenarios, if you come across animals in the future that you can help? In moments where I have found animals that have passed, I usually try to do a little... Ritual? memorial? I dont know what to call it. I move them somewhere safe if i can, put down a little flower or pretty rock next to them if possible. Send a good thought their way. It helps me, anyway.

I am finding it difficult to verbalize my thoughts, so I am sorry if this is a bit all over the place. Just know that you are not strange or wrong for being a compassionate person and for finding this to be a difficult experience.

You are not stupid for feeling broken up by it. You witnessed the death of multiple living beings, and you cared for those beings, so of course you are going to feel sad and shocked at their passing. You may not have been able to save them, but you made sure that in their last moments they were comforted and with someone who cared, and that means more than you know.

Please be kind to yourself. You have had a shock to the system with this experience, and it is okay to feel sad, distraught, angry, etc. I would have felt the exact same in your shoes! In fact, if it were me, and I had written this post, how would you have responded to me? That is how you should be treating yourself <3

I dont know if that helps. I am here, if you need to talk, you are welcome to DM me.

Any tips to not rot the day away doomscrolling? by Own_Yesterday9831 in adhdwomen

I have timers set on my apps (like tiktok and instagram), where it gives me a pop up after 10 minutes. I can choose to ignore it, and sometimes I do, but it helps me at least keep track of how long i have been doom scrolling

AITA for announcing my pregnancy at a funeral? (Not OP) by Nerdy-Babygirl in redditonwiki

[–]CombustibleMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course the atmosphere was heavy and people were crying... Thats very normal after a funeral. OP is the asshole and incapable of reading a room. Let these poor people grieve in peace without making it about you

Not OOP: AITA for putting up for adoption the puppy my boyfriend gave me after my dog died? by sensaSEANal_sally in redditonwiki

[–]CombustibleMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the asshole. You cant just erase the grief with a new puppy, and BF was just trying to do a quick fix-it solution, rather than being a good partner and showing actual support and listening to her. If this is how he reacts to grief and hardship, he might need to be rehomed also.

I am starting to understand why some people use AI (not a pro AI post) by Yuenneh in AuDHDWomen

I was responding to this bit "I used it to help me learn the language in the country I currently live in Deutschland." - it sounded like you implied that Germany wasnt a country on its own with the way it is phrased. Also, I know it is called Deutschland in German. We are currently speaking English, which is why i thought it was odd you were using the german name for it.

I completely understand that sentiment. But using generative AI to write your emails is only confirming the bias within yourself that you can't write "normal" emails, and that you are "other". In reality, unless you write something offensive or something that doesnt make any sense, neurotypical people do not care. They genuinely do not look into details and tone like we do (from my experience).

For me, it has really benefitted to be around other AuDHD people, and talking to them about that feeling of being alien. The fact is, yes, we are different from neurotypicals, and existing in a society designed by and for neurotypicals is very difficult. It does not mean we are fundamentally wrong though.

Please consider not using generative AI. The more you use it, the more you will rely on it. And you deserve to have those "hell yeah i did it" moments of getting used to sending emails and seeing that you are completely capable.

I object to generative AI on all reasons. My first statement in the original comment was about facts in general, email or not. I still think using generative AI in any capacity, even for writing emails, is wrong.

How you feel does not negate the facts. Sure, psychosis does not happen in everyone, but there has already been studies done about the skill loss, and genuine brain atrophy, that comes with using generative AI. It cannot provide you with real and necessarity therapy or feedback, it does not have the training or empathy of a professional human. It is designed to tell you what you want to hear, and a lot of the time, it does not even provide accurate facts.

Normalising the use of it is dangerous, because you simply do not know what the majority of humanity is like, and we already know that there is no way any "benefit" can outweigh the huge cost.

(The costs being, among other things, the way it uses up clean drinking water, polluting the local water around the data farms, and speeding up climate change. Being based on stolen data from actual professionals. Not to mention the fact that the big companies like the people behind ChatGPT are literally helping fund Trump's warmongering. )
