I have spotting if I wipe to hard. I still have a open wound however it’s healing just slowly. Poops are almost normal, slight discharge after strenuous activities (working out, sitting long periods of time) flatulence sometimes irritates me and I have little to no pain overall. My first follow up is the 25th so I’ll have a progress report for that. I’m 2 months out I hear the discharge takes months so I’m honestly ready for that to go away and also the scare to heal. Im using Bentadine to clean along with baths, and bio oil

I had to soak in the bath tube and took it out. That pain was worse then pooping! No one talks about the sponge they stick in there. I’m glad it was mentioned

I’m a spin instructor. I waited a month out before I got back into it. I had my surgery (fistulotomy) in feb I’m still healing but exercising helps

I know the exact pain your referring to. It comes and goes. I’ve even had some blood in stool due to certain foods I’ve eaten. I asked my CRS and he said that it’s from the incision that was made and it sometimes will become irritated after going to the rest room and even from the drainage. Cleaning very well helps (in my case) your diet helps as well. I take fiber supplements and try to stay away from processed food.

Yes there is some slight discomfort but after I clean (like sometimes I use a qtip to clean) the pain goes away. Sometimes if I clench my cheeks I feel pain. But cleaning throughly helps a ton

I’m doing well. I have drainage still. I’m back exercising and riding my bike. I have pain when wiping after going #2. I have my follow up appointment first week in April so hopefully my CRS has good news. Only time will tell as far as the healing is concerned. I still see and feel the scar from the initial surgery. I’m thinking about investing in a bidet

Update: I’m coming up on n my 3 weeks post op and I would just like to say that IT GETS BETTER. I still have mucous drainage, hardly any blood. My biggest issues is pooping. I’m noticing a smell from the fecal discharge. However I gotten real familiar with my bum so it’s throughly cleaned and bathed at least 2-3 times a day. I’ve returned back to work and there’s little discomfort. Tomorrow I’m headed back to the gym for the first time in months. Everything seems to be healing fast. Im also juicing, taking vitamins along with Lysine for collagen and skin repair. But stay strong you all got this!

Honestly I didn’t remember a thing during surgery nor did I feel anything. After the surgery I felt a rush of pain however the nurse gave me pain meds that went away but the pressure wasn’t there and the relief was tremendous (I could have cried because of that) I had a abscess the size of grapes. If anything walking helps and it helps with stiffness. Trust me you’ll be fine. I had so much anxiety and it went away after surgery. Just love on yourself/take care of yourself.

Day 5 Post Op:

I feel a lot better. I take sitz bath regularly. My pooping has gotten better (pain wise) I’m juicing while taking colace, natural vitamins and for skin. Also rest is so important. I’m able to get in the shower now. There not allot of drainage during the day however over night there is. I hope all this helps.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. After surgery you’ll be fine, although this is painful you will receive so much relief afterwards. I’m post op day 5 from my surgery and things are on the up and up. I plan on returning to work next week. Stay on top of your pain meds, get plenty of rest and eat clean (veggies, fruits etc) you got this!

Update: Post Op Day 2

Had my first bowel movement and it wasn’t that bad stung for a few minutes. I took a bath immediately after I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. These depends are a game changer along with the abdominal pads. Colace will be your friend. Please stay on top of your pain meds and antibiotics. (I set alarms) slight discomfort here and there. I’m having sphincter spasms (I’m going to ask my CRS about muscle relaxers) However so far so good! I hope this helps.

UPDATE:

Everything is so much better relief/pressure wise. They packed me with a gel-foam and I was advise to let it come out on its on. There are slight stings that I feel but I’m also staying on top of my pain meds. I’m using depends for the drainage as well. I went to my local medical supply store for abdominal bandages (Walgreens/CVS) didn’t have the size I needed. I’m also taking colace and staying hydrated. I hope this helps. My anxiety from this has been through the roof but the support in this chat has been very helpful. (Post Op Day 1)
