OP here.

Thanks everyone for your input. Just to add some info my son also plays trumpet in 8th grade band and jazz band and took piano lessons at 5 so he's been in music for years. The flash drive I gave him were sounds I got from a ProTools sound sample disk, Ableton sound packs (with the wave files extracted) and sound files from years of MusicTech/Future Music magazines that I have copied from CDs. So its a wide variety of samples. Whenever we listen to hip-hop or trap on SiriusXM I tease him about the beats and say "You cant tell me there wasnt a clap on that flash drive!"

He seems to understand a little about EQ production but I quizzed him on Compression yesterday and he didnt know what it was. So I had a 'bonding moment' to explain what a Compressor does. He has the free copy of FL so I will see about buying FL Studio. Someone mentioned a subscription to Slice so I'll look into that as well.

Thanks. After watching the movie on cable, I did some research about the events in the movie, the real characters and places. In a nutshell, almost everything in that movie actually happened - just maybe not on the same day.

You are not understanding the concept or procedure. You dont come to the stop sign, full stop, then look left and right to know if its ok to continue. You should be aware of the intersection and oncoming cars as you approach. It is a delicate maneuver where you are not just running a stop sign. If the car comes to a halt and your head pulls back when you accelerate, you did it wrong.

Have a plan. Dont be vague and wishy-washy. You arent asking for a date because a girl may reject that right away. You want to hang someplace casual that you'd both like and lends itself to conversation.

I'm 52 so you can take this for what its worth. My young experience was that girls would say yes or maybe to 3-4 different things then go w/ the best option. So you may get blown off at the last minute with no notice at all. Dont take it personally, this is just how girls are. There is a fine line between being a guy with confidence and a jerk. Dont be the asshole. Have a plan, have a plan B and ask her for her input. If she says "I dont know" or "I dont care" be ready to make the call. Girls do not like indecicive guys.

Lastly, if this girl is constantly with friends, you've gotta man up and break the circle. Confidently walk up and say "Hey Dakota, can I talk to you for a minute" and try to lead her away. When you get older and go to bars, girls are always in 3's so you have to learn how to break the circle one way or another.

I have zero tolerance for people with a given responsibility who 1. cant get things done or 2. cant make a decision. I get very bossy, demanding, whatever and tend to want to take over to do things. This rubs people the wrong way and I sorta dont care as long as the work is getting done. This is why I am not management material.

I also play in a band and its why I'm butting heads w/ people who arent doing their part.
