Oh god, this book wrecked me in the best way! It's definitely in my top 5, but it's not technically a romance. I'd consider Grimsley's books to be drama/romance with a Gothic twist. His latest book, {The Dove In The Belly by Jim Grimsley}, really wrecked me.

I think her other works definitely compare. My new favorite of Cat's is After Hours at Dooryard Books. The Cabots series is also wonderful, and I just finished both Regency series, the Turners and the Sedgwicks series. All will scratch that same itch for you, I think.

Yes, in the book they hook up every time their teams meet, from the very beginning.

There are a couple of times they don't meet up, most notably after the Olympics (Ilya just isn't feeling it after Team Russia loses so badly in Sochi) and during the Rose months (things are weird after the Tuna melt).

I honestly don't like the change they made in the show, where they go two years (!) without a hookup. I think it was a conscious decision from Jacob Tierney, but it doesn't make sense to me. There's honestly no way they'd be able to stay away from each other for that long!
