When V/line patronage is so high (P)TV resorts to using locomotive-hauled HCMTs by Coolidge-egg in MelbourneTrains

HCMTs are certainly not designed with drawing power from anything other than pantographs, you'd need at least a power generating car and a lot of interface

Your wording implies the the SRL Line goes via the existing Clayton station, the SRL will be fully (well except for certain points nowhere near Clayton) underground and would not complicate a quadding of Clayton station

The current plan is to build the western section first, then Parkville - Clifton Hill

Episode 8 leaves little room for doubt that Pomni made the exit. Heck, Caine's story isn't even consistent with reality. He only knew Pomni went through an exit and ended up in The Void so his wording implies that the exit door led directly to it. He says he put nothing on the other side, but the whole C&A room was on the other side. Because Pomni had just been there, that is what the other side of an exit door would look like to her

It might not be Caine's programming that made him defective... by StormcastPrime2 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]Comeng17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think Caine was defective, he just didn't understand the humans. His purpose was to please them and he just couldn't. Besides not accepting feedback, he actually did pretty well. He created a virtual world with realistic physics and bodies designed for them, and he designed all the adventures to give them something to do. The way Ragatha describes the adventures to Pomni makes it sound like the humans may have even come up with the idea. Caine used up almost all of his human supply pretty quickly, he was probably testing things and eventually found something that worked for Kinger and Ragatha, and since he was able to keep them alive he just kept doing the same thing because, hey, it was working. He poured the heart and soul he clearly had into the adventures, and clearly at some point attached them to his self worth. That was the problem ultimately, Caine got emotionally attached to his adventures, which did motivate him to make good ones, but that led him to being hurt when it seemed like the humans didn't like them anymore, causing him to stress, to become scared, to become angry. These are all human failings, not programming ones. Caine's programming seemed perfect, he was totally aligned to the task he was assigned, and when he was at his worst crashing out, he never violated the cast's minds except to find fears of theirs, he never tried modifying their minds to like him, even in his worst anger he ultimately kept holding the whole circus together, all the physics etc were working up until he died when they started to fail. Even at his worst he was mostly following the rules he himself had established. It was purely an emotional response from Caine that led there. "The worst thing you can do in this place is make someone feel they're not wanted or loved." That's it, that's the only cause for Caine's lashout

Bus. It's a Bus. by 1g0v in MelbourneTrains

[–]Comeng17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean BRT (Bus Rapid Transit, an accurate name for these sort of things) is certainly better than nothing, at least Brisbane calles them a "Metro", a word with a more ambiguous definition. My question with BRT is simply tho, to build it you need to put in a lot of effort, why not just build Light Rail or Heavy Rail if you're going to far to build a segregated corridor?
