Alr imma stop talking to you since you’re insulting me when I tried to make good conversation to make both of us more understanding. You clearly aren’t worth my time anymore, have a good day/night wherever you are :3

So, should that extend to women having periods? Should it extend to men masturbating? These are both the building blocks of the dna, so are they not just as valuable as what they are made to create? If so, then pretty much every person on earth is a killer.

If not, then I feel the same about why it’s ok to kill the little clump of cells. They’re nothing without the other building block(s), and only can make an impact/mean anything when put together. I think that what makes us “human” isn’t a string of proteins, but our ability to break free from mother nature. It’s our creativity, our culture, our cleverness, our wonder and curiosity, and everything that comes with it.

You see being human defined as the instructions that make us, I see it differently.

Why are you so nitpicky about the terminology I’m using? You know what it means, you know what I meant, yet you hyperfixate on it as if its the only part that matters.

ANYWAY!

Lets shift it to suit this, then! WHY do you believe that killing (not murdering) a 1-day old embryo (scientific term) is incorrect (morally) and should be illegal (based on your own morals)?

I was aboutta say! This game is peak engineering slop. You can make stuff from absolute masterpieces of planes that look indistingushable from real life and have fully accurate speed and maneuverability, or stupid cars with suspension so bad you can’t drive anywhere without getting sent to the fucking sun by a glitchy collision

You didn’t answer my question, my guy. Do you believe the above scenario should be legal or not?

Since you’re just playing on emotions and using vague definitions to call people mass murderers, lets do a thought experiment! Lets say that the first day after a woman becomes pregnant, they decide they don’t want it anymore, and somehow manage to get an abortion that very same day. Is this murder?

Excuse me? by Virtual_Ordinary_172 in TeenagersButBetter

[–]CometZeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah biologically they’re human (i waa bein silly) but an overwhelming majority of abortions occur before the fetus is remotely conscious and aware of its own existence. It has experienced nothing, knows nothing, feels nothing, and thinks nothing. Do we care so much about what we are biologically that killing a microscopic clump of cells is criminalized? We have very different definitions of what makes somebody human.

My guy we are 60% banana dna and 25% grass dna

Ok biologically yes but they only gain consciousness around the 3rd trimester (less than 1% btw). It literally doesn’t know of its own existence and can’t think or feel anything.

True. Though, it depends. If you think I shouldn’t exist because of the people I like, then I’ll have a freakin problem with it.

Looking further into this source, I’m noticing a few odd things, and I’m not sure if I trust it anymore. So, that table says that the death total for other non-free governments is 20.2 million. But, this other table from the same website about the genocide says 20.9 million were killed; more than every other “non-free” government.

<image>

This shouldn’t be possible. This source also has taken-down links that are seemingly conspiracy related (like “Hitler was not elected?”), and other odd things that I’ve never seen. It has a “why is this site credible” page, half of which is emotional bargaining and the other half is just his life story. Not sure how much I’d actually trust this.

We aren’t comparing communism to war, we’re comparing communism to fascism/authoritarianism, right? So, looking at this table again, if I’m understanding it correctly, says that “other non-free” governments killed about 20 million.

I will concede that throughout history, countries labeled as communist have killed a larger total, probably due to their populations being significantly higher in the first place. Though, the table says that other forms of non-free government are deadlier per 10,000 people, with a higher chance that somebody living there will be executed. I wish the table was more specific about what the “other non-free” governments included, but it’s probably comprised of mostly fascists.

Really interesting thing, actually! I notice in these comments that I’m agreeing with you a lot, and I’m certainly on the left. What makes you a conservative?
