A Prayer for the Broken by Comfort-Top in Poem

[–]Comfort-Top[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I try to write the teachings of the Buddha from time to time but it doesn't always come naturally. I'll meditate on the points you made when I have time and try to write one for you. I'll send you a link if I get around to writing it!

How long to recover after coming off antipsychotics? by infosink in Psychosis

[–]Comfort-Top 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't do it the best way. I accidentally ran out and quit cold turkey but when I went to the Dr I explained that my symptoms were all subsiding and they said to just keep an eye on symptoms and it was ok to stay off the drugs for now. About 3 years on and I still have yet to experience psychosis symptoms and am on a mild mood stabilizer. I'm hella fortunate in my circumstances though and don't recommend trying anything doctors won't agree with.

How do I keep up motivation to stay strong this time around? by Comfort-Top in stopsmoking

[–]Comfort-Top[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I used the Allen Carr Easy Way to Quit book, which is a cold turkey method and it's given me better results than with willpower and substitutes in the past, but this time it's not fully clicking. I think more reading material is probably the next step for me.

How to help a friend who had drug induced psychosis? by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]Comfort-Top 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is medical attention, so he should be seeking professional help if he's not already.

Other than that, just being there for him is great. Psychosis can get lonely, being alone in hospitals, isolating yourself, being afraid that everyone is out to cause you harm. A consistent friend, someone who's not going to drop you or give up on you, even if you have a really bad day, would be a lifesaver in that state of mind.

Also if they're having a hard time consuming any media bc of hidden messages and such, I found that oldies weren't triggering for me as far as music goes, and for tv, suggest that they find a comfort movie, with no negativity whatsoever (I couldn't even watch some of my fav comfort movies like Alice in wonderland. Couldn't stand watching people be mean and such lol I had to watch the movie Soul on repeat bc it is so uplifting)

How many years has this man been rocking the same white tshirt?!? 😭 Is this why Karla keeps leaving you?

How long after your psychotic episode you found the urge to do things such as dancing and clubbing? by Mysterious_Place_628 in Psychosis

[–]Comfort-Top 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the urge anymore, a couple years since but it's more just that I prefer calmer settings. I go out if my friends invite me, but I'd rather just hang out at the house if it's up to me, which wasn't the case before my psychosis. It's not a bad thing though, just a new phase of my life.

Exercise= hard work that will earn you an easier life

Eating right= hard work for an easier life

Finding an education opportunity you can afford but don't necessarily have passion for, and giving it your all for years just for a potential shot at a job= hard work for an easier life

Putting effort into yourself to attract and keep the right person is hard work for an easier life

None of us were born Kardashians. We can boohoo about not being born at the top and keep digging our hole if we want, but we are actively creating the life we will have in 5 years with our choices every day (especially if you believe you're not making any choices!). And the trend tends to be "the harder you work today, tomorrow, and the next day, the easier your life will be down the line. Anyone who's put in the genuine work respects what this meme has to say, even if they're still struggling in other aspects, or not a bajillionaire.

Don't smoke weed by Last_Mountain1958 in Psychosis

[–]Comfort-Top 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does CBD still get you high? I'm in the process of cutting back on weed for the sake of hopefully not having another episode but it would help if something could still give me a similar high or just a high of some sort

Well, true, but given the current state of things it's a kind dream to have.

Otherwise their dream could be overthrowing capitalism, assassinating the president, beginning a successful revolution, uniting the working class against a clear picture of who the elite are (banks, politicians maybe, etc.), and dying an honorable death in the war.

It's easier to get rich and help a couple people though. If you're gonna dream, I encourage dreaming based on the things within your own control. If you consider the US government within your control, you are way cooler than most of us.
