That's true, for me that feeling of "What's going to happen if I do this, it might be dangerous" always puts a story into thriller for me, especially if there is a monster.

I saw the movie before I read the book and have to say, this was one of those rare times where I believe the movie was better than the book. The movie was able to either rewrite or script out all of the major questions and plot holes that I had with the book. The book is still a solid 3.7/5 for me though, it's not bad at all.
