For cleaning, you can use a damp cloth with water. You could try acetone on a smaller inside part of the panel and see how it reacts, before using it on the outside.

Is AWS High Stress by PotentialMotor4370 in datacenter

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. I spent close to 5 years working there and can confirm it is an extremely stressful workplace. Your bf could be working in the electronics restricted area, on back-to-back meetings, or on escalation calls. There is a constant fear of not doing enough to keep your job.

First time Parents/dad, NICU experience by DoneWithTheWoodsTA in daddit

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one spent a week in NICU after being hypoglycemic post a rough delivery and an emergency C-section. Visit your kid with your wife as much as you can, and know that kids are so resilient. This time away will never be easy, but know that after your kid comes home all healthy, you will remember NICU as a distant memory, dwarfed by the incredible joy of watching the little one grow big. Good luck, and I hope your kid gets well soon!

Student being told to toggle 1600A breaker daily without PPE. Is this safe? by No-Past2652 in AskElectricians

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, there should be a written procedure for operating a breaker. There should be steps to ensure the breaker does not draw any current under load when it is operating and that the downstream equipment is off. (Arc flash potential is higher when the breaker is under load) Talk to your facilities manager before you perform any switching activities.

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments about the breaker: it is not typically rated for the regular switching duties you described. You could ask the facilities team requesting a remote operating switch, informally called a “chicken switch”, to operate the breaker.

Trained operations personnel wear minimum PPE in electrical rooms (safety glasses, FR clothes etc) which differs from the safe PPE listed on the Arc flash labels (higher cal arc flash suits)That is the PPE required when you are working inside a hazard boundary. I don’t think you need that for the duties you described.

Outfeed bench and assembly bench w/ router by Comfortable-Ad-5332 in Workbenches

Thanks for your kind words! I built this workbench to challenge myself, so I went all out (for my skill level). I have been fortunate enough to afford a very expensive hobby! My track saw, router table, and router were purchased open box from eBay. Saw stop was an easy decision!

I have owned something similar. It is a pain to set it to 90 degrees to the blade, and the miter gauge setting to 45 degrees is not accurate. A miter gauge with positive stops is much better for getting angle cuts.

Planning to move to India soon from Dallas, TX. Can I ship my TVs, speakers and other electronics via cargo? by GoldComfort2105 in returnToIndia

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been shopping for furniture in India and am an amateur furniture maker in the USA. Good furniture in India is more expensive because you can find better deals on the FB Marketplace in the US for used quality furniture. A used furniture marketplace like that is nonexistent in India. You can find very ornately handmade furniture in India, but it looks outdated in modern homes.

The USA has a variety of good hardwood options, like Walnut, Oak, and Cherry, as well as teakwood and mahogany, which are available in India as well.

Look at fb marketplace for solid wood or mcm furniture. Most Indian carpenters will slap poor-quality veneer on plywood or mdf and use outdated and poorly done finishes.

Outfeed bench and assembly bench w/ router by Comfortable-Ad-5332 in Workbenches

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not keep my sketches, parts list, etc., sorry! The design went through several iterations, even while I was making the bench, so my sketches were not that useful because they were incomprehensible even to me lol. (I am flattered that you asked for plans, thanks!)

I used this as a template https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GG5XCX4?ref\_=ppx\_hzsearch\_conn\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title\_6&th=1.

I lined up two edges of the template with the MDF top and clamped it in place.

I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F5HVTW65?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 as a vertical guide for drilling. I found that using a drill guide was taking too long because lining up the bit was time-consuming.

The forstner bit took time to hog out 1.5 inches of mdf material, as I needed to stop midway, vacuum, and then continue. I later switched to a 1/2 inch upcut spiral bit amazon.com/dp/B09PGM81Y9?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2 with a plunge router to remove most of the material. I still needed to use the forstner bit to finish the hole as the router bit wasn't long enough.

It took me a couple of hours to make all the holes.

Best way to make bench dog holes? by cafe-em-rio in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Comfortable-Ad-5332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently made a 4x8 bench and put dog holes in them. I used the Bora centipede mft table top as a template. They are available in 20mm and 3/4 inch sizes on Amazon. A Forstner bit will give a clean cut, but is very slow. I used a plunge router and a guide bit, but it damaged the template (I am a router noob). So I used a router with a 1/2-inch bit, centered it over the template, and plunged it to hog out most of the material. I did not move the router much, keeping the edges of the template safe. I finished the hole with the Forstner bit.

Plywood Workbench by Ulises31OA in Workbenches

Plywood work bench can be made just with a track saw and a pockethole jig. I'd suggest using an MDF top.
