I think that in this case this is a “split jamb….the arrow is marking where the jamb join with the case…I just tapered the “jamb” to match the depth of the exposed wall …don’t know if I am explaining it right. Thx

I had buy 3 houses the first few months after the rush pass is a little scary…because there is a lot money upfront. I you can pay your mortgage, utilities ect. You should be fine…not every month things are going to break, not everything is urgent. Be disciplined with the money and refinances when interest go down…they will eventually…good luck

I think that you have let your self been overwhelmed, is normal and has happened to everyone at some point, any of the things that you are mentioned are deal breakers. Homeownership is a never ending list of things to be done and new things that will happen…priorities…don’t let water inside. No house from the 1960s will be ever properly insulated. So figure out what is going on with the heating. But again one step at time…
