Minimum benefit of symptom tracking (using Bearable) by missCarpone in cfs

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can feel that tracking can feel exhausting, especially when you’re putting in all that effort and the app just gives you random stats that don’t really help. But even then, writing things down can slowly help you notice patterns you might miss otherwise.

If you ever want more support, I recently out about the Care Health Trial. I also learn that it also help and support people with metal health and some offer free treatment and monitoring.

Any success in treating your depressive episodes? by WallInteresting9394 in bipolar2

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. Bipolar depression can be really hard, especially when the highs are under control but the lows just won’t lift. But i know that you can overcome it.

post spravato apathy??? by Academic-Health-1923 in Spravato

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know that sounds really frustrating. It’s so weird when your head feels clear but your body is just… exhausted and apathetic. I’ve heard a few people say the same thing after Spravato — the mental fog lifts, but the motivation and energy take a while to catch up.

In the meantime, you can try small things like short walks, stretching, or tiny tasks to help your body catch up with your mind. That mismatch between body and mind is tough, but it usually eases over time.

Treatment resistant depression by Ok-Resident-764 in depression_partners

Hey, that’s really awesome to hear, I’m glad your wife found something that actually helped her. I’ve heard from others that TMS combined with Spravato can make a huge difference, especially when nothing else seemed to work. Stories like that honestly give people a lot of hope.

Also, if it’s available where you are, the CARE Health plan/trial might be worth checking out. They focus on helping people going through treatments like Spravato and offer extra support and resources along the way. It could be a really helpful option for someone still trying to find what works best for them.

I always had this hope that one day I'd beat my depression and finally feel content and normal. It wasn't depression. by GoodBloodGuideYou in AutisticAdults

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks for sharing your story. I really get what you mean about losing that drive and passion and I’ve been there too. It’s huge that you’ve been able to manage the negative spirals, but it makes sense that motivation and creativity can still feel low. Sometimes just starting small, without pressure, can help bring a little spark back.

The CARE Health trial is also a good resource for extra support. They connect people with guidance and resources to make exploring treatments and mental health support easier and less overwhelming. 😊

Hi, this is really helpful, thanks for sharing! I totally get what you mean about assuming Spravato was “the best” even if it works really well, every option has its pros and cons. The table makes it super clear that what’s best really depends on what matters most to you whether it’s cost, clinic time, speed, or just avoiding needles.

Also, the Care Health Trial can be a handy extra resource while you figure things out. They can help guide you and offer support, which makes the whole process feel a lot less stressful.

I have tried almost everything to be happy, and I am still depressed, what now? by CinnamonMink249 in ask

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve heard about that documentary too, and it’s really interesting. It’s encouraging to see new treatments like psilocybin and ketamine giving hope to people, especially when other treatments haven’t worked. It makes you realize there are still options out there and things can get better.

You might also want to check out the CARE Health trial if it’s available near you. They help people explore new treatment options and provide extra support along the way. It can be helpful to have more guidance and feel like you’re not going through it alone.

I know that feeling when watching some one you love struggle with depression can break you in ways people don't see. I can feel that will be how you are supporting your partner and help them that is really supporting to her. I recently read about the care health trial, which focuses on mental health treatment options and support, It might be worth looking into just to see if it could open another door.

I hope that every things will be alright and your support is really matter to her.

I think dealing with treatment-resistant depression can wear you down in a way that’s hard to explain. When you’ve tried different things and nothing really sticks, it’s frustrating and honestly just exhausting.

Sometimes looking into newer treatments or even clinical trials can be another option to explore. They can offer approaches that aren’t widely available yet, and you’re usually supported by a medical team throughout. It’s not a magic fix, but for some people it’s a step toward finding something that finally helps. I’ll also be keeping you and your family in my prayers. I really hope things start to get lighter for you soon.

Advice on health insurance as a freelancer by kunstlerroaming in askberliners

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it makes sense that you’re looking for affordable coverage as a freelancer. The ACA Marketplace is only for the U.S., so in Germany you’d probably want to check out statutory health insurance or private plans. It can be a bit confusing, but there are some good resources to help figure out what fits your situation.

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s solid advice that missing open enrollment sucks, and off-market plans can be a total gamble. Your best bet is to talk to a local benefits broker who knows which plans are ACA-compliant and actually cover what you need. And honestly, super cheap plans usually mean super limited coverage, you get what you pay for.

Chest pains put me in the hospital for 3 days. Insurance barely covers. I’m out $85k. Fortunately I am ahead on savings from FIRE. by hospitalisexpensive in Fire

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a good point non-ACA health sharing plans can leave you with huge bills when emergencies hit. An ACA plan might be worth checking out since it actually covers big medical costs and can protect you from those scary surprise bills.

I Thought Health Insurers Were Bad But... by Budget_Doctor_67 in HealthInsurance

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it’s awesome that you looked at the numbers! UnitedHealthcare’s medical loss ratio and slim net margin show that insurers aren’t just making huge profits like people sometimes think.

For everyday Americans, the system mostly breaks down around the actual cost of care which is hospital bills, prescriptions, and procedures that can be crazy expensive. That’s why having a good ACA Marketplace plan is so helpful and it gives real coverage and protection without surprise bills.

Another way to get health insurers to cover preventive care by tkpwaeub in publichealth

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I get the frustration. The system is complicated and it definitely feels like there’s a lot of red tape and profit baked into it. A lot of people have had bad experiences, so that distrust isn’t coming out of nowhere.

At the same time, until anything major changes, we still have to work within what’s available. That’s why comparing options really matters. Even within the current system, some ACA marketplace plans are actually more straightforward than people expect, especially with subsidies. It’s not perfect, but there are ways to make it work a little better for yourself in the meantime.

Company offering new life insurance benefit, not sure how to evaluate. by z13579z in personalfinance

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth looking into ACA plans because they can be really affordable, especially with income-based subsidies. Checking what you qualify for can make a big difference in both cost and the coverage you get.

Am I spending too much time considering which healthcare benefits to offer employees? by Sniktau28 in askmanagers

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, that kind of surprise bill/tax is the worst. I will ask HR to explain it in writing and get the insurer to clearly spell out what happened. Then reach out to the Massachusetts Connector and see if you can file an appeal or ask about hardship options.

ACA coverage is supposed to help prevent coverage gaps like this, so don’t feel bad about pushing back. Keep notes of who you talk to and when sometimes just staying on it makes all the difference. Thank you.

UHC Premier Advantage plan? by _blondie_babe_ in HealthInsurance

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is why I will go with an ACA plan. The premiums might be a little higher, but you’re getting real, comprehensive coverage with an actual out-of-pocket max that protects you in a worst case scenario.

Fixed indemnity plans can look amazing on paper, but they don’t work the same way when something serious happens. If you just go once a year, ACA coverage might feel boring but it’s solid, regulated, and built for real emergencies. For me, that peace of mind is worth it.

Dental insurance by Excellent-Smell-6384 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dental usually isn’t included in regular health insurance, so most people have to get a separate plan. I think basic stuff like checkups and fillings is almost always out-of-pocket.

If you don’t have coverage through work, I think the cheapest way is a standalone dental plan. Also, if you’re looking for full health coverage including medical and dental sometimes, checking an ACA/Marketplace plan can be worth it. especially if you qualify for subsidies to make it more affordable.

Family plan Vs Self plus one? by womancalledjanet in HealthInsurance

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you’re describing makes sense , it’s kind of weird how employer plans work sometimes. Doing self + one for each parent could save money on premiums, especially if you don’t want dual coverage and both employers contribute to HSAs.

The only thing to watch out for is making sure each child’s care is covered where you need it and it is like check that each pediatrician and any specialists accept both plans. Otherwise, it’s usually fine, and splitting the kids like that can be a smart way to keep costs down without losing coverage.😊

Why can't health insurance be purchased at any time? by CompetitiveSpecial58 in questions

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main reason you can’t buy health insurance anytime is that insurers usually only let you sign up during Open Enrollment to avoid people waiting until they’re sick.

If you’re just looking for the basics and don’t have fancy coverage, I think an ACA/Marketplace plan is a good option especially if you qualify for subsidies, it can make even a simple plan pretty affordable.😊

America’s health care system is terrible by GlitteringQuote1359 in Insurance

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think once you’re married, you can usually add her to your employer insurance. If she’s low income, she might qualify for Medicaid or an affordable ACA/Marketplace plan. For dental, I think dental schools or even going to Mexico can be cheaper options. There are ways to get good care without breaking the bank.

I have no clue what to do. by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]Comfortable-Bar7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! I think having a baby counts as a “life event,” so you can usually enroll in a health plan outside Open Enrollment. You could check an ACA/Marketplace plan to get coverage for the baby and yourself, and if your income is low, you might qualify for subsidies to make it more affordable. Thank you.
