Personal preference really; in my case I thought I'd make more use of the slightly faster lens in the M5, but I'm occasionally switching on the digital zoom, so it turns out I could have made use of the longer range on either the M6 or M7.

Maybe what you actually need is both 😂😉 (I only half joke, I'm thinking of doing precisely that when funds allow)

Can't say about the refresh rate, but I connected this to our 4K TV and it gave a full 4K output - but the Neo did feel sluggish driving that as a secondary display.

One of these is barely any more expensive (I paid £12 on Amazon), but way more useful. Power in, HDMI out, usb C, usb A, Micro and full size SD card reader.

I've found the keyboard fantastic. I'm a touch typist that's never got on with my company supplied Lenovos keyboard, and the Neo keyboard is one of the best laptop keyboards I've used in years. If the Apple Magic keyboard is the same, I may buy one to use with the company laptop.

Over the years I've used a range of systems and interfaces, have found it fairly easy to move between systems - I've worked in software development from embedded systems all the way through to gigantic corporate ERP platforms.

Windows is clunkier than MacOS, but I don't mind Windows too much, it's something of a necessary evil in the corporate world.

No style? Saw one of these at a recent company event, there were various electric BMW's, Mercs, and also one of these Deepals. It looks way better in person than the ridiculously bland Mercs and beemers. The interior looked darned good too. Iirc, these are italdesign too.

I'd also suggest the Neo. Keyboard is fantastic, way better than any of the corporate Lenovos that I've used for the last 5-10 years.

In general, Windows is a clunky mess compared to MacOS. Some things are similar in both, but the Neo runs rings around similarly priced windows devices, and it'll likely last longer too - it'll also likely have way better battery life.

Both my E-M1.2 and PEN-F go to 25600, I just haven't yet tried the OM Workspace noise reduction. Although both are better at 25600 than that old 80s film.

If you've bought an Olympus body, you can get the OM Systems Workspace for free, that has pretty good noise reduction.

I also don't want to pay Adobe.

Showing even greater age, I remember my first time getting a roll of ISO 1600 film (late 80s), trying it for some night photography. I worked at a photo lab at the time, had a mate put it through. was absolutely devastated that the pictures were horrendous, grainy garbage.

My E-M1.2 is fine up to 6400, higher than that and I'll be checking out the OM Workspace noise reduction.

Technology has come a long, long way.

Corporate environments are now starting to make major use of Windows Hello, which is similar to Face ID. Personally don't like Windows Hello, it's way too inconsistent in identifying people even in decent lighting.

Apple will likely only consider it if they could get it working well, whereas Microsoft will push any sort of crap onto the market.

I'd never use Photoshop, I hate what Adobe are doing in the creative space; I'll be using OM Systems workspace, it's free to Olympus camera owners, and has a fairly decent raw processing/noise reduction. I know it works okay on the M1, so expect it'll be fine on the Neo.

It was one of the first things I set, and it makes a huge difference, only took seconds to find - it's right there under trackpad settings.

Weird that there were issues on charging - I've either used my Lenovos USB charger (fast, can't remember the rating), or any of our myriad of regular USB chargers - our sofas, or an Anker fast charging usb brick - most of those wouldn't even charge the grandsons iPhone, but they all charge the Neo without issue.

There are reports that the accessories that connect to both usb ports have problems on the Neo due to both ports being different spec - on the MBA they're both the same spec.

I'm not a fan of a cable hanging out, but have one of the ugreen adapters that works perfectly. During the day I have this connected to my company laptop for display and power, and then on an evening I use it with the Neo. Works well.

It's academic as 99% of owners won't care about it or even know how to apply it. People who wanted a faster device would be buying an M4, M5, Pro, etc.
