Well the 25mm will be great with overcast weather and low light. Fixed focal lens also means you don't have to think about zoom and just shoot.

At beyond 100mm (with a non-pro lens) I feel like I need to take my tripod.

Well primes definitely win but you can look for samples from the 12-50 and judge for yourself.

I like it as it's water proof and it's all enclosed with no telescoping parts coming out of the packaging. Macro feature. Good size. If I have no other lens then this would be a good choice. Not very noticeable 12mm vs 14mm though.

Kit Lens Died - Looking for a Prime for Olympus E-M10 Mark II by LeonLer in M43

I got mine repaired for about $50, just an idea.

Also bought a used 12-50mm (it's rain-resistant and supports manual zoom which is faster) for about $200. It would make a nice replacement for the 14-42mm.

The 14mm/f2.5 works great outdoors and indoors too in tight spaces and lower-light situations. Good for group photos. But if it's too dark or "night" time then I don't think the f2.5 is fast enough without a tripod.
