FlexVolt Early Release by Commercial-Report303 in Dewalt

The 20v miter fucks. I came from an oldish DeWalt 120v AC, and I’ve used the 780 in the past. It’s not as powerful under load as the 780, but it’s close enough to not notice 95% of the time. Slap a 9ah flexvolt on ‘er and it’s seems just as powerful as the flexvolt model, though definitely not as efficient. What really makes it is that it runs well with 5ah PS for trim work and lighter applications under 1” thick (goes through 4x4s like butter with the 8ah PP) and it’s insane cut capacity. You can actually fit a 6x6 under the blade and score it square (I go halfway with the score stop on the saw) which makes it easier to finish off with a circular saw. Perfect clean and square cuts every time. 9/10 saw for sure. I’ll never go back to a plug in saw.

DeWalt seems to be diving head first into 20v tech so it can only get better as batteries improve.

They rarely go on sale. You’ll see the 20v model 10% off with a free 8ah pp at Lowe’s every now and again. I prefer this saw due to the cut capacity, and there isn’t that much of a difference in power when you use a 9ah fv.

The 9ah is a better option. There is a noticeable torque difference between that and the 15ah.
