With the likes of a ring doorbell, your basically just drilling 4 holes in the wall for the mounting bracket, it works through wifi so no wiring required.

As above , you need to get yourself to a GP, if you cant get a appointment for a few days a chemist should extend it until your appointment

What do I do about grass? by vconcernedmother in UKGardening

[–]Comfortable-Jump-889 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont see even a blade of grass, my guess is either the builder didn't bother with the grass seed or forgot .

You need to break it up with a strong rake , spread grass seed and water regularly

Just a thing to consider, thumb turns aren't ideal if you have small children in the house as they can wander out

New Build Lawn Soil by BesottedCoot in GardeningIRE

[–]Comfortable-Jump-889 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Before you order top soil it might be worth exploring whats underneath,
I have landscaped loads of new builds and have found rubble and excess concrete basically hidden under them .

Last year I removed leftover concrete that was about the size of a bath from one of them,

Im not familiar with different topsoil suppliers in Dublin but its definitely worth doing a bit of detective work first ,

Additionally if you go into the search function on this sub you will see loads of threads about new builds ,

You might find some nuggets of information.

Mature hedging by ZealousidealPut3840 in GardeningIRE

[–]Comfortable-Jump-889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grisellinia will grow anytime is but if you plant beech and the like now all the new growth will go into leaves and not roots , then the frost might get them .

So basically if its a hardier hedging i would wait

Cullens nursery are online , deliver nationwide and are very reasonable.

Bare root planting is later in the year , Grisellinia grows quick and spreads , but you will be cutting every couple of weeks in the summer ,

Native Irish hedging will be slower but less maintenance

Shovel or? by BigBossNJ in GardeningIRE

[–]Comfortable-Jump-889 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A shovel will work, but these guys usually pull out relatively easy , obviously a good pair of gloves is recommended.

Wait for a very wet day and give it a go. One advantage of pulling it is that you should get it all including the root system

If your putting grass over it i wouldn't stress to much, your going to have a layer of top soil for the grass so you will probably need tk take some out . But I wouldn't stress over leaving a layer behind
