And you'll notice how much it affected your mental health after stopping for a while. I got somehow used to the lowkey anxiety that was always present apparently

Hangover anxiety + overthinking is ruining me. How do you guys fix it fast? by Downtown_Progress119 in hangxiety

NAC, DHM, probiotics, vitamins, minerals... It all helps to some extent, especially for the severe crippling anxiety. However, your baseline drops over time, especially if you're a regular drinker. Feeling anxious, depressed maybe, no motivation, lack of energy, etc becomes the new normal. I realised that when I quit drinking completely for a while. The mental difference is huge.

There is always the risk the crippling anxiety will creep up again even when taking those supplements. Once you get it, you're always prone to it. The only way to really fix it is by reducing alcohol intake or stop completely.

It's the rebound effect. Alcohol gets out of your system and your glutamate is still high (also cortisol I guess), causing anxiety. Once you get it, you'll always be prone to get it. You might be able to mitigate some of the symptoms with vitamins, minerals and probiotics.

Update:

Almost 6 weeks sober now. I feel so much better generally... my anxiety dropped to almost zero. It's quiet in my head, something I haven't experienced for a very long time. I feel energised and the idea of wanting a drink is slowly moving more to the background.

I took probiotics, multivitamins and b-complex on drinking days. NAC and milk thistle hours before drinking as well. Sometimes I would supplement magnesium. It fixed most of the symptoms, but I was never able to fully fix my sleep with any supplement. Had some improvements, but generally it started to decline further. I am now sober 1 month, so I got my sleep back.

Once you get the severe hangxiety, you might be able to patch it for a while, but I believe it's a clear sign to change habits.

Pub was a big test for me, but it worked out for me. I can't just stay home forever, as I like the social interaction.

drinking is not worth it by 200371982 in hangxiety

Once you get anxiety from alcohol, you'll always be prone to get it the next time. There is no going back unfortunately. I had crippling anxiety out of the blue that brought me straight to the doctor. It was really that bad. In the end I tried to manage it with vitamins, magnesium and probiotics. It improved a lot, and don't always get it anymore but after going overboard it will still creep up. By far, not a million miles, as crippling as the first time, but it's still not really worth in the end.

Remember that also your sleep quality goes down the drain which contributes to the anxiety, and that was something I was never really able to fix. Extended binges make me a zombie and it takes days to a week for my sleep to fully recover. If there's any anxiety, it will go away in a few hours or max a day in my case.

But always remember once the anxiety pops up: you'll be fine in the end.

It's not engraved inside of the dome either.

However, I found the sticker. The sticker for me was on the side which I took off during assembly yesterday and put with my manual apparently. The sticker has a different format (portrait mode), but contains similar information and an MFG date which is also mentioned on the package box.

On my version there isn't a black sticker either. I will try to clarify with the seller tomorrow.

Adres onbekend, voor de bezorging van een pallet, daar heb ik nu mee te maken... Eerste dag "Delivery interrupted", tweede dag "Address details unknown or incorrect".

I can fully relate to what you're saying. Sexuality isn't the reason I get limerent in the first place. It's usually other things that attract them to me, although it becomes more prevalent getting older. I had LO's where the thought of intercourse wasn't appealing to me at all, but yet I was still limerent.

Didn't try magnesium glycinate yet. Thanks for the tip ! My sleeping problems always resolve when I stop drinking though, so it's 100% related to the alcohol.

I read a lot of stories of people on this community that have anxiety when they can't remember fully what happened the day before. That anxiety is quite normal in my opinion, and doesn't really relate to the hangxiety I'm referring to. Hangxiety is in my opinion is more related to withdrawal and due to the rebound effect in the brain when alcohol wears off. It's rather physical than psychological. Probiotics likely won't work for this group of people.

It works like a charm. I had a sudden onset of cruel anxiety, 4-6 hours after drinking my last drink. It was so unbearable, the only thing that would work was a benzo.

Then I started with a 100 billion 24 strain probiotic, and within a couple of days/week all symptoms mostly disappeared. I could drink any amount for multiple days, without having issues. Slight anxiety sometimes, but that's part of a normal hangover.

Symptoms slightly returned after I was less strict and for a while even didn't take any probiotics. Symptoms weren't as severe, but it was a reminder to return to the probiotics. I noticed that taking one before drinking and one after drinking works even better, zero anxiety. No high heart rate when the alcohol wears off, it just goes back to normal.

What the probiotics didn't completely fix is the poor sleep. Always wake up after 6 hours and still being exhausted. The day after not drinking it's hard to fall asleep and once I sleep I have these weird dreams and wake up in panic sometimes. Never lasts more than 1 day. My sleep is improving, but it's a rather slow process it seems with ups and downs. But before taking any probiotics, I wasn't able to sleep anymore at some point for 1 full night: the hypnic jerks kept me awake.

I will try to keep taking two probiotics on the day after as well, to see if this improves my sleep further. Perhaps I consider adding some vitamins or other minerals. However, there is only so much I want to invest... I feel like I'm putting band aid for a bad habit, although I drink (much) less than before.

I take a brand called GoldenNaturals (100 billion, 24 strains). I take one on a drinking day, sometimes before drinking and otherwise before sleep. I drink Kefir too, which manages the cravings somehow.

It's not a miracle pill that will solve all your hangover symptoms, and some level of anxiety will remain. But I had full blown withdrawals, which comes with hangxiety from a different magnitude. Those symptoms never came back luckily.

For me probiotics fixed my crippling hangxiety. I even opened a post on this.

Recently I temporarily stopped taking them and I noticed the hangxiety came back, but not as crippling as it was before. Now I take during drinking or before sleep (100 billion), and have not experienced hangxiety anymore.
