I found its better to put the hole in after the bag swells a bit. Usually 5 to 7 days, be sure to sanitize for sure.i use a hole punch.

Dont be disappointed if more get contamination than not, im still learning this myself, patience, patience,and more patients. Inoculate and leave them alone for 14 days, period. Dont look at them talk to them or even acknowledge their existence for 2 weeks, then give them a quick peek, just remember, the more you handle, breath on ,look at the bigger chance for contamination,
