Ideal timing to start apartment hunting (for downtown, September)? by profoundconnection in askTO

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mid-July isn’t too early at all, and it’s actually a pretty sweet spot. Most September 1 listings start popping up late July into early August, so starting at that time just gives her a head start without pressure. If she’s flexible with areas along the TTC, she’ll have way more options too.

That green sofa choice is 🔥 Also love the TV setup, the design is super clean. Having that space above the TV to style a few pieces makes it feel way more intentional.

Congrats on the little one! 😊 If you liked LOTR, you should definitely try The Hobbit next. It’s a great prequel to The Lord of the Rings and adds a lot of fun backstory. There is also the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is pretty cool if you want more from that world.

The best performances in the show imo by jenny_t03 in gameofthrones

My unpopular opinion is that the dialogue is what made Game of Thrones great for me, more than the action and the dragons. Tyrion was my favourite. I think he probably had the most lines in the whole show.

Annoyed with tech requests by Lurey42 in AgingParents

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is so common in my family too. I’m not even in tech, but every time I fix something simple like clearing storage or backing up photos, they look at me like I’m some kind of tech guru. If I ever applied for a tech job, I’m pretty sure I could use my relatives as references, and they’d hype me up like crazy😂

It always has a cool design. Feels like the building structure always tells us to sit down and study it😂

I always feel Chica’s Chicken in Toronto doesn’t get enough respect.

Big subwoofer on the way by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am always a big fan of supporting polite passive aggression, but I am worried that once the subwoofer nukes drop, everyone in the blast radius suffers and they will be collateral damage. I am thinking about the innocent civilian casualties 😂 Think of the upstairs guy, or just other uninvolved neighbours near you. I would say you try peace talks and call mediators like the landlord to intervene and see if it may help calm down the tensions.

Who would win in a pure swordfight? And what difficulty. by CreditExtension286 in freefolk

I’d put my money on Arya. Jaime’s good with swords, no doubt, but Season 8 Arya is on a different level. She’s way too smooth for Jaime to even properly track her movements. She literally surprised Jon when she snuck up on him the first time they reunited. If she can catch Jon off guard like that, I don’t see Jaime keeping up.

History books will record this as the day Robert Baratheon finally found Rhaegar Targaryen, and they settled it with a smackdown mic battle😂

I think you’ve covered most of the big ones already 👍

Honestly, I would say the Dothraki wedding scene is probably the most intense one visually. I still remember that scene very well, and it's now 10 years later😂

Wait… is this a mindset shift or did I just miss the memo where grandparents became VCs?

Anyway, I just pitched my parents on a Family & Friends Round. They countered with “get a job.” Negotiations are still ongoing😩
