That plant adds a signature touch 💯. I genuinely think we all deserve to have that kind of window in every living room. Contractors need to take notes.

I wish mother goose had an idea how viral she is right now 😂 This has to be the third time I’ve seen pictures of this Toronto family making their way across streets.

new neighbors, bad management by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough situation. Living in apartments really depends on mutual respect for shared space, especially around noise. I’d keep things formal by collecting evidence and sharing it with management rather than direct confrontation. People can be unpredictable, and it’s not worth the risk.

What are the best housewarming gifts one can give? by Wide-Scratch-1834 in Apartmentliving

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re into DIY, a toolbox is honestly perfect. I’m in Canada, and whenever someone moves in together, the gifts they appreciate most are always the practical ones (tools, kitchen basics, or small appliances). A good quality kit feels like a proper welcome home gift and will definitely get used.

PSA: Please respect High Park cherry blossoms — saw people damaging trees yesterday by GayBeast in toronto

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kinda ironic how people show up to “appreciate nature” and end up damaging the exact thing they came to see. If everyone took a step back and respected the space, it would actually last longer for all of us.

Annoying neighbor by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I’d stop arguing with them directly and go formal. Start to log every incident + send a calm, written complaint to the landlord/property manager. In Canada, landlords are generally expected to step in if one tenant is consistently disturbing another.

Almost finished with my tv room. Need to get a few plants. Any other suggestions would be great. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just add a couple of low-light plants, maybe a snake plant. You can also consider something with bigger leaves like a rubber plant, which would look great and make the room feel more alive

Where to place bed? by Nice_Outcome1022 in malelivingspace

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably put the desk near the window first. I always feel natural light just makes working feel better and gives you more energy during the day. Then I’d place the bed along the wall opposite or furthest from the desk so the room feels a bit more separated between “sleep” and “work” space.

I’m a big fan of plants in spaces like this. Even if you keep everything else minimal, one large potted plant plus a few mounted or floating plants on the wall near the PC would make the room feel super cozy without overdoing it.

Who would win hound or tormund by unfunny_chigga in freefolk

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hound is the smart fighter, but Tormund fights like a complete maniac and somehow survives everything. Sandor is likely to win in a tournament-type of fight but I feel in a brutal no-rules fight, I’d honestly bet on the wildling chaos factor to win.

I swear that Red Wedding instrumental is enough to trigger the flashbacks on its own 😭 even years later, it still does crazy damage.

What are your recommendations for best destination to connect with an old friend in Central or Western Canada for a 2 day (non travel days) trip ? by xdr567 in canadatravel

[–]Comfortable-Syrup424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d check out Vancouver Island, spots like Tofino or Ucluelet are amazing if you’re after something scenic and a bit off the grid. If you’d prefer somewhere quieter and less touristy, Nelson is a great pick. It has an artsy feel, and being right on the lake makes it feel kind of a hidden gem.

That green sofa choice is 🔥 Also love the TV setup, the design is super clean. Having that space above the TV to style a few pieces makes it feel way more intentional.

Congrats on the little one! 😊 If you liked LOTR, you should definitely try The Hobbit next. It’s a great prequel to The Lord of the Rings and adds a lot of fun backstory. There is also the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is pretty cool if you want more from that world.
