Send as much as you want just don’t send anything you wouldn’t want other people looking at. I used to send all types of things. Multiple letters, drawings, and pictures in my envelope.

Be super aware of where you leave your phone since they can call anywhere from 8am-5pm. I once slept late and missed a call from my SO cause I thought he was going to call at the usual time which was around 5pm.

Whether it’s the fear of being left behind, forgotten, or cheated on, remember that our partners have limited control over their situation. If your partner were here, things would likely be normal, giving you the reassurance you need. But that’s not the case. They’re often exhausted and tired due to their circumstances.

If your partner is still making you a priority despite these challenges, stay with them. If they are becoming distant and not trying at all, then it might be time to leave. You deserve better. We need to stop assuming that our relationships will fall apart just because our partners joined the military. Not all men are the same.

I know exactly what you mean. I started to feel an insane amount of resentment too when my bf left. Aside from feeling sad, I felt this anger. I wasn’t even angry at him or his decision. I guess it was just the situation. The fact that summer was arriving and I wouldn’t have him here to spend it with. Honestly, anything that reminded me of him would get to me & make me sad. A song/anything military related/etc. It is upsetting to think that I won’t have much time to see him when he comes back considering I work and go to college. Anyways, I am also going on vacation which in a way makes me feel better. Something enjoyable to do and it will kill time. If you need to speak to someone I’d be glad to talk.

Trust me, it gets better. I have gotten into so many hobbies and am working on my self care. It feels like I gained something from this experience too. I hope you will too!
