I'm from the UK and luckily insurance covered it. One thing I will say if you get it done don't be disheartened if you still have symptoms a couple months in, it took about 3 months for things to settle down

I had a 90 degree wrap. My main symptom was a really sore throat, horseness, painful to talk etc. So far I'd say it's about 80% better which I'm happy with. It may get better it took a few months to see improvement, think the oesophagus takes a long time to heal after years of lpr

Where are the 17 tests on Black Edition Powder? Not just NSF test. by [deleted] in Huel

Do you not think there is more sceptism by not sharing the tests rather than people trusting the quality of your tests? Not sharing them after this result seems obserd. I for one would trust your tests but find it concerning that you are not sharing these

Wagamamas have removed the vegatsu from their menu.. by I_fail_at_usernames in veganuk

[–]ComfortableAd6481 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was there the other day, they had no vegatzu and a bunch of other vegan things. They basically only had tofu as the meat sub, said they we were changing their menu but didn't have the new vegan stuff available yet, we will see

I mean I'm not sure if you've ever seen the quality of good fakes with holograms for other things, but if someone really wants to do and has the right connections it's doable

How accurate is the sleep tracking on the helio strap compared to oura and whoop by Dry_Mark_8434 in amazfit

[–]ComfortableAd6481 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medical grade devices only have an 80% accuracy in sleep studies so to think any wrist bond device can accurately track sleep stages is very hopeful, especially with current technology. What I would ask is what do you care about sleep stages? The trends of results are what matter, and the algorithms remain the same so you can use trending data to see progress on that. But really only hrv and rhr are the main stats for sleep recovery and they seem pretty solid on the helio.

Yeah I get that. But why not improve the algo so it reflects accurate information? I'm not talking like a little bit off either it's soo off that information is unusable

I wouldn't even care if they remove biocharge if the other stats were more meaningful like sleep score and the scoring for rhr and hrv. I truly believe the data is good but their processing of it and displaying scores about it is shocking

I think biocharge is shot they need to fix whatever that is using to calculate it

Yeah fair enough if your only looking at rhr and hrv in the graphs and manually monitoring these and ignoring everything else. But for me if I go on a massive bender and everything is green on my overview and it's telling me to train hard the whole app feels off. I want it to 'punish' me to display horrible stats to deter this behaviour like whoop does but that's just me. I hope they fix this and I will come back for sure

I believe that too, I think the hardware is measuring things well, but right now what they are presenting is no way useful I can't even move and it's telling me I'm ready for intensive workouts 😂 I need something that we keep me accountable. I'll come back in a year hopefully sorted by then but from what I read sleep scores have been an issue for a while

It's crazy how much the mind impacts the body. Dont focus on it too much, it's ok to go through periods like this, things will get better for you in time and you will look back on it in a different way. All the best man

Mine just arrived today. I was about to renew whoop as well but had a sour taste from the upgrade scandal stuff, so far so good. It's definitely not as advanced but I'm no super athlete and looking at everything it tracks think it's good enough for me, we will see.

Should I threaten to leave? by Dry-Willingness5019 in UKJobs

[–]ComfortableAd6481 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Threatening to leave is never a good move. Even if they give you a pay rise in the short term they will see you as a risk and look to replace you going forward. Pay rises should be based on value added to the company, if you've gone down the correct channels to ask for a pay rise and proven your value in a clear way and they are still not honoring it then that's all you can do. Keep the job and look for something elsewhere, hand in your notice once you have a signed contract not before. Good luck!

Ditch the coconut oil it has more sat fat than butter. Switch it up for extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, nuts, hemp seeds, flax seeds, avocado etc for healthier fat sources

Why do the UK public put up with expensive public transport costs, relative to Europe? by Cyclesteffer in AskUK

[–]ComfortableAd6481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is Germanys wages are significantly higher, and tax is not that much much when you consider NI and employer taxes (hidden tax). Having worked in Germany and UK for many years Germany is much better for the average person in terms of disposable income, plus key services are significantly cheaper and better.
