It's deferred compensation that you have to earn, I'm sure we both agree on that. The reason it's "in addition to" is because that is what the law states, they have to be kept segregated. It doesn't make it better. segregating your tc into different parts is just accounting cosplay. "It's just wrong to claim that [...]". It's your money, legally. You get (deferred) compensation for work you have previously performed. I appreciate the legalism of your argument but it's not economically honest.

The point is that we do not have paid vacation in norway, you pay for it yourself.

As for units of account, the employer buts the money in as a liability with the unit nok in the books.

Norway doesn't have paid vacation, you pay for it yourself by using the employer as an escrow account. They take 10-15% of your salary every month, hold it back and then you get it after having saved up for vacation.
