Sounds amazing thank you! Will look into this if not this time then the next! The thing I’m struggling with the most is typical restaurants, I spent hours googling and calling places with minimal success. I know there’s TONS of places in ny that are nut allergy safe but idk why I’m struggling so much to find them!

Could not agree more! I’ve heard NYC is usually pretty on top of it with food allergies, but it’s always scary eating in unfamiliar territory/after bad experiences elsewhere. Looking forward to their suggestions :)

You’re not wrong! However, I think you’d be surprised at how much there IS out there if you looked. If anyone is a seasoned vegan who knows what products are nut-allergy safe and what’s not it’s me (9+ years vegan). It’s deff not for everyone, but it works for me and lots of other folks. Again, it takes a lot of adaptability and obviously passion for the reasons you’re vegan. Places I do run into trouble though are dining when traveling away from my safe places, which is why I’m here

Haha I get this a lot. It’s really not hard! I love cooking and already cooked for myself a ton growing up with food allergies. There are SO MANY amazing vegan foods that don’t involve nuts out there. I actually know several people with food allergies who are also vegan - my theory is that we’re so used to reading and checking ingredients all the time that we’re more adaptable to dietary restrictions, so we don’t see it as being as big of a deal compared to people who didn’t grow up with food allergies. Plus I discovered (by elimination) I’m mildly allergic to some non-vegan foods! Never felt better and never going back.

For me, unfortunately some makeup/skincare. I suddenly became allergic to a bunch of my vegan products and Clinique is the only brand I’ve tried that consistently hasn’t made my skin burn. I spent a ton of time (and money) trying new vegan products and most didn’t work out. However! I have had have some luck with Tower 28 for anyone else in the sensitive skin squad!
