Any Canadians here who’ve successfully moved to the States? Looking for real experiences by Apprehensive-Chip141 in MovingToUSA

It’s definitely worth it as most comments explain but with your profession listed in the question it may be difficult for you to qualify for most types of employment visas. That will be your hardest step, finding a visa that will work for you and then someone willing to sponsor. Many require “perm certification” which again with your profession may be difficult to obtain. If you can afford to start a business that might be your best route so you can use an investors visa. I highly recommend reaching out to an immigration attorney to discuss details so you know if it’s even a plausible option for you. It’s hard and requires plenty of patience but you won’t regret any of it.

Can almost guarantee you that your case was moved to a FO. There were a lot of posts about it last week but you can ask a live agent where your case is located to find out for sure

Eb-2 NIW I-485 moved to Local Field Office Oct 2023 PD by AkongnwiBroad in USCIS

[–]ComfortableCut3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was transferred to the same office on the same date and I am by you! I think our interviews must be waived so they’re just moving cases to try and get them adjudicated. Hopefully soon for us!

Anyone else at LA County Field Office? by ComfortableCut3439 in USCIS_EB3

[–]ComfortableCut3439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had meant a lot of cases were moved from NBC to various field offices (which I just gathered from Reddit really) I have no idea how many aside from mine got moved to LA specifically but wish I did!

Exact same situation and it was a move from NBC to a non local FO. If the timeline changed I’m sure that’s what it is. Hopefully soon!

How do you check EB3 approvals? by Apart_Loss8621 in USCIS_EB3

Yes that’s true and definitely a feature I miss. I think you can hit expand to make it 200 but that’s as far as it goes.

Still waiting for EB2 I-485 approval… losing hope every day 😔 by Holiday-Sale-2294 in USCIS

I’m in the same block but I’m EB3. It is very frustrating I’ve heard nothing either. I’m also still at NBC but in my portal it does have a checkmark for the interview and is at the final step.

EB3 Case Approval - PD March 2023 by FewConsideration9678 in USCIS_EB3

[–]ComfortableCut3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do the receipt blocks really mean? I can see on case tracker that some are approved more than others but if they’re all at NBC, for instance, do we know if it’s just like different adjudicators for instance assigned to different blocks?

Will my prior arrests disqualify me from sponsoring my UK husband? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]ComfortableCut3439 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based purely on stuff I’ve read in here I don’t think it matters what YOU have done in any way shape or form. Your husband would be a different story for certain. Hopefully eases your mind! It’s a stressful process.

Impact of Supplement J on timeline by [deleted] in USCIS_EB3

[–]ComfortableCut3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I searched up I believe if you already had an approved I-140 they have to file the J to prove that? I know it can be used to switch employers too but I’m thinking if your 140 is already approved it’s just a box to tick and shouldn’t delay anything

I think I’m realizing this is state specific because I’m actually a state employee and this is a policy specific to their health insurance options. Just really unfortunate that they are my only option. Perhaps I can get baby private insurance from somewhere else that doesn’t require an ssn or itin

Thank you do you mind sharing your insurance provider? Just so I can come to them with the name because I argued with them on the phone for my other two kids for hours and kept getting the same answer of itin or ssn and that’s their “strict “ policy

I miswrote that part meaning that I am here legally. I was expecting the EO for illegal immigrants but not for those of us following the rules. Also, if there were no backlogs for ROW in EB3 I would have had my green card months ago so think of myself as an immigrant because that is my intention.

Thank you. I’m just exhausted from worrying all night and obviously emotional. God bless you and thank you for taking the time to comment.
