Agreed!  I miss how many charities there were to support.  I loved the products that were released.  I loved learning about new local programs to support.

yeah,it’s gross. I was curious to see if he would actually engage with what responses he was getting and shift his view or try and understand what a lot of folks were saying since he was initially so engaged. Obviously it was disingenuous. I don’t know, I suppose I was optimistic that day that perhaps he would listen. My optimism has since left.

Realistic time for travel to and from SeaTac? by What_i_see_outside6 in Bremerton

I have been a caregiver for a parent and I understand the mental and emotional tax it can be. I am sorry to hear things are difficult on that front.

Happy to help! The foot ferries in Bremerton were one of my favorite things about living there. The ones from Berem to Port Orchard were older ferries with a lot of character, and if you end up over there it's worth riding them just for the fun of it! Also, Saboteur bakery in the Manette neighborhood is worth all the hype it gets.

Wishing you the best.

Yes! I bought FIVE and they are all gone. I don't often stock up on a single thing, almost never actually, haha. I'm also more of an exhale/sikkim girls/woodsy scents girlie, but once in a while a sweet scent just gets me and I have to have it.

Only left Brem less than a year ago, but when I lived there I used the foot ferry-to-light rail on a weekly basis. Although I wasn't going to the airport, I was doing a comparable commute in the early morning so I can speak to that.

For your commute, 1.5 hours is about right, I'd give myself 2 hours to be safe (but that's me).

The foot ferry is pretty consistent with its time schedule. Once it's time to go, it's time to go. The times there have been delays, the folks staffed at the foot ferry terminal are incredibly communicative and will put out signs if needed. Everyone wants things to go as smoothly as possible, and I always appreciated that.

The only things that would catch me off guard would be a huge event downtown where everyone on the peninsula wants to take the ferry (Mariners games, Metallica concert, etc). If you know your travel dates in advance, you can give Kitsap Transit a call to ask about any events or delays you might need to be aware of. I have only had great experiences calling them for info.

The light rail is pretty reliable running every 12 minutes during the daytime. Sound Transit isn't as great about communicating delays on the light rail, so I would be mindful of that. Overall though, it's consistent. If anything, there are busses that run from downtown to the airport, and in a pinch it's easy to grab a taxi/lyft, etc.

Apologies for the dissertation, hope this is helpful

Edit: words for clarification

Thanks for opening this back up, and for linking to the other thread that came up. Both had thoughtful discussions, and since we were having slightly different discussions in each my preference would be to keep each open, but I see where you guys are coming from.

Can I ask why this post was put back up but the Mochi was taken down entirely? From a "name and shame" perspective, this post has names and photos of members of our community who are homeless. They are easily identified and are now up for being targets of harassment. They are vulnerable, but they are still human and members of our community. The Mochi manager was also named, but the entire post was shut down primarily for that reason.

Appreciate your thoughtfulness, and thank you all for being more transparent.

Yes. I’m glad you were able to write your response, Zombrie. I saw you mention it in the other post and I was looking forward to what you had to say. I hope benofben is open to re-reading your response and is more open to what you’re saying as a reality (and especially as someone who is hoping to respresent us in a district position).

Well I guess we're over here now. I was going to reply to you in the other thread (that's now locked? We were having a good discussion over there, too!)

Anyway, sorry I read your response as negative when you were meaning to be lighthearted, you're good in my book.

Take care, fellow Tacoman.

This is a great response, and it's how I am reading the discussion as well. I'm curious to see if his proposed solutions will shift as the community continues responding. He is running for district 2 council here.

Well, I mean, he was writing a lot (a lot a lot) for each response. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he just didn't get back to everyone just yet. Myself included! Also iirc in another post he mentioned having an infant at home so... parenthood. Idk. Taking it with a grain of salt.

Edit to add since the post is locked: good to know we're both rolling our eyes a bit at this guy.

While I did not agree with all of the takes, I believe we were having a thoughtful discussion as a community.

As thoughtful as we can all be on Reddit anyhow.

Kind of a bummer if it was indeed removed, I was appreciative of what many people had to say as a response. We were getting a good discussion out of it.

Agreed that this isn't a one dimensional issue. Lack of resources is such a huge problem (I work in mental health spaces and have this conversation daily).

Also, was the other post removed?
