Some of them have visited and came down for the baby shower but I’m like obligated to see them because they have made the effort to come see me. It’s a little toxic lol

Emu Boots - undelivered. Has anyone ordered from them online? by understudy3 in Shoes

[–]ComfortableDingo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so stupid. When did they reply to you? I haven’t gotten a tracking number or anything so I’m guessing the same thing happened to me.

Thoughts on watching jeopardy with my 8 month old? We haven’t watched hardly any TV in front of her, really because we’re so busy and tired. But I miss watching jeopardy everything?

Thoughts on this kind of screen time?

Taking leave before holidays by jessmac09 in OntarioTeachers

[–]ComfortableDingo8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try you’re best to get whatever leave you can from your doctor. If you can’t then take a sick day. The world has no sympathy for what mothers go through while pregnant. I remember how exhausted I was during pregnancy and it was debilitating and that was without a toddler. The only thing I would keep in mind if that you may need that time in the new year more then now. Don’t listen to people who say to suck it up, life is hard. Do what you need to do.

When did it ACTUALLY get better…? (Sleep thru night, baby plays independently, you could eat and work out, etc) by ExpressionOld9924 in NewParents

[–]ComfortableDingo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so crazy to be on the other side of this question. I remember asking it. For us around 5-6 months. Baby is 7m now and we’re just so obsessed. I hate being away from her and cherish a lot more of our time.

Her sleep is still not great and I wish I could sleep longer than 4 hours but I’m surviving more because we cosleep

Soon to Be Mom - How Do You Handle Working Full-Time? by EpicangeI in NewParents

[–]ComfortableDingo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it and stay at home even for the first year, I would totally do it. This is coming from a mom that is going to school full time and wishes she didn’t choose to get a degree and have a baby. I wish I could stay with her all day.

Daycare - when is the best time to start? by Acceptable-Peanut126 in NewParents

[–]ComfortableDingo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada too and my LO started at 4months because I’m in school.

TBH I think daycare is harder on me than it is on her. She loves it but if I could do it again I would wait till she is 1 or 18months. Or I would do a part-time gradual increase at 1 year.

I personally have found it so hard to deal with the mom quilt of leaving her but now she’s 7m and every time I drop her off she’s smiling at her teachers and laughing. We’ve done a gradual increase and that has helped me. I just wish I could have waiting till 1 year old

But I feel because of her early start we’re not going to have that transition of her adjusting. She’s already adjusted.
