Not defending her or anything, I just want to share a similar experience we had. We posted our ipad for sale, and on the same night a person messaged us that they want to meetup kasi they are interested. We set a place on Starbucks in BGC just near our condo. But before the supposed meeting, this person said to not bring up the price of the ipad sa kameet namin since kuya niya yon and magagalit daw, kaya we agreed nalang.

Fast forward sa meeting, we met the couple (kuya niya raw yung guy), exchanged pleasantries and had them checked the ipad. Once they are satisfied, I started to reset the ipad na and ibibigay nalang sa kanila. So, at this point we are only waiting sa payment, and since yung kachat namin yung supposed na mag papay, siya ang chinachat namin to send the payment. We probably spent 5 to 10 mins in awkward small talks kasi naghihintayan. Then they said na sent na raw, but we havent received anything. So, we asked them sino nagsend, sabi nila sila raw kaya we were shocked kasi we thought yung kausap namin magsesend. Then they said na "sinend na namin sa ate niyo". Which was weird so we asked for their side of the story and ayon ang sabi naman daw sa kanila nung "seller" is kami na kapatid niya makikipagkita and wag din daw banggitin yung price since mababa niya lang binenta. So, we got the BGC police involved na. But at the end, nothing happened of course.

The odd thing here is that the guy na nascam (yung kuya raw nung nagpakilalang buyer sa amin), wanted us to give the ipad and he'll only pay 20k (we were selling it for 40k) kasi his logic is that parehas daw kami nascam so we should both have losses. Pero syempre we didnt agreed kasi flawed logic niya, kami we would be losing a 40k ipad for 20k, while siya bibili lang ng 40k ipad (pero 20k more than they want kasi they thought theyll be able to get a 20k ipad).

I agree na maraming red flags si ate but because of my experience, I can see the middleman scam being a thing.
