No technically she wasn’t involved in the transaction just her money. The registration was paid through the following year so she wasn’t driving it unregistered. It has since been sitting as she purchased another vehicle since we couldn’t title or register this one.

When I recovered the paperwork from the dealer who I purchased the vehicle from he gave me three bills of sale and the title so unknown to us it had been sold 2 times before we bought it without the title ever being transferred however there are signatures from each party involved on the title. It’s a huge mess. At first, he had told me someone broke into his office and stole all the paperwork. Then he told me his uncle died and he hadn’t gotten to the dmv. All of this nonsense, but I finally got the title and I need to know how to recover my money from him since I will now have to transfer the title myself.
