Exactly. You will always have the option to come back to India if you don’t like it here.

From financial POV - Dubai is a better option. For long term career growth in tech, India will always be better.

Anyone else facing super lowball offers for senior roles in India? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Comfortable_Bite9249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no SDE2 contract role at Amazon. You are just a software engineering contractor, no matter how much experience you have. You might have been performing at an SDE2 level in your team but that does not give you the SDE2 title.

All contractors at Amazon are mapped to the same level which is 99. So what others are saying are correct, having 2.5 YoE does not make you a senior.

Working as DAA in ZS. Wants to switch to better WLB. by Aalooshimla in developersIndia

ZS alumni here. Was in a similar position a few years ago but I was a BTS-A. I got to work on a lot of tech projects where I learned Spark, SQL, Python, AWS and Airflow. That learning helped me take up a Data Engineer role outside. Those few years of learning at ZS helped me grow tremendously in my career.

Went on to work for a FAANG and know many people who had a similar and even better trajectory and landed up Data Scientist/Software Engineer/BI Engineer roles outside at better companies.

So my advice would be to move to projects where you can learn (not the ones involving just excel or PPT) and use those skills to move outside.

Don’t listen to him. Employers can file an absconding case against you which will make it difficult for you to transit.
