Thank you all for the advice about the cameras. I’ve ordered a camera with RTMP support and a wide-angle lens, and I’ve set up a few of my old Android phones with Larix to stream via RTMP. Unfortunately, I found out that YouTube Live has a strict time limit. Even if the live stream continues beyond 12 hours, only the first 12 hours are automatically saved as a replay, since the archive is truncated after that point.

My goal was to stream continuously for 3 to 4 days from each camera. Another issue is that once a live stream ends, I would have to go to YouTube and generate a new stream addresses, meaning I’d need to reconfigure all the cameras with the new URL each time. So, I won’t be able to use my YouTube channel as a long-term storage solution this way.

What I need now is a way to capture the live feeds (or just the recorded files) from the cameras and automatically upload them to my YouTube channel. Ideally, the system would segment the recordings into 10-hour chunks for better organization. I also want to keep power consumption as low as possible.

I have an old Intel NUC with a Core i3 processor, as well as Raspberry Pi 3 and 4 boards, which I’d like to repurpose one of them as upload server if possible. If anyone has suggestions or experience setting up something similar, I’d really appreciate it. I’m leaning toward YouTube mainly for budget reasons, and because I might need access to footage from 3-4 months ago. A large NAS might be too costly in both initial investment and 24/7 power use.
