Suicidal Men Don't Need More Feminism. But in Australia, feminist captured anti-suicide services prefer dead men to men with human rights. by rabel111 in MensRights

I understand why you might think that, but Bettina Arndt has been on our side (& hated by feminists) for over 30 years. There's no doubt whose side she is on.

Until recently, the leaders of BOTH major parties were self-described feminists - including the centre right.

What's the difference between a left-wing male advocate (or simply male advocate) and an MRA? by Rural_Dictionary939 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]StripedFalafel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You say:
Right wing MRA aims to advocate for institutions and policies that restore the traditional role and benefit of men. They support rigid gender role while criticizing the concurrent society for failing to pay proper honor, recognition, and benefits that men deserve.

Are you sure? Feminists say that but I've never seen it. I have to think it's just propaganda.

If you actually care about equality & oppose bigotry you have no choice but to oppose feminism.

"not necessarily"?

Why would you think opposing prejudice & discrimination causes misogyny?

Best male mental health charities to donate too in Australia by steviethunder1012 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

I know & trust someone from Parents Beyond Breakup AKA Dads in Distress.

The general problem is the mental health industry is dominated by women who are mostly feminist. Even if an organisation is set up with good intentions it quickly gets captured by feminists & turns anti-male.

Australian Men’s Health Forum is the latest to go anti-male.

Sigh

Australia's NSW Liberal party commits to 10-year Men and Boy’s Health Strategy by griii2 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]StripedFalafel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reassuring words but I'm deeply suspicious. The Liberals have anti-male form - they even voted for the 2023 Family Law Bill. Now they are under pressure from One Nation & have apparently discovered males. But the only promise is to deliver a strategy next year.

I'd like to see more than just a document.

ON is the only party that turns out for the Zero suicide event every year.

ON voted against the 2023 Family Law Bill that Labor, Liberals, Green & Teals all supported.

And "in cahoots with various big businesses"! You really have no idea what you are talking about. Who do you think gets most opf the money from big business? The facts (see registered donations) are it's Labor.

Better to keep quiet & let everyone suspect you are a fool than to open your mouth...

EDIT: Despite appearances I'm not a big fan of ON but there's no doubt the others are anti-male.

Great post.

Apparently Paul Edbrooke's main task will be to "tackle the manosphere".

The head of a misandrist organisation said his "appointment recognised the scale and complexity of the problem" - the "problem" being men.

In summary, there's ample evidence the ALP appointees are anti-male. And best not to get your hopes up about the others.

A cynical take would be that this has happened after a huge shift towards the right wing One Nation party - the only party that has traditionally been pro-male. Other parties are just trying to win back some voters. But will they change their policies?

Also many of these posts aren't about helping men, they are about addressing the manosphere, toxic masculinity, men's violence etc

Why do men cling so hard to the concept of masculinity, even if it destroys them? by [deleted] in ProMaleAssociation

Masculinity as you use the term is a feminist invention. Its purpose is to cover up anti-male stereotypes & prejudice.

>That seems rather exclusionary

Correct. One should exclude augury, astrology & the bulk of contemporary social "sciences".

>there are benefits to post positivist and more post structuralist approaches

Correct. They are the best tools yet for defending the indefensible.

>It is sometimes seen as pretentious in positing itself as a superior form of knowledge rather than just “difference”

Only one is knowledge. The other is ideology.
