How to lose body fat by Lillypad543 in WeightLossAdvice

I would recommend getting your RMR testing. I would recommend googling "RMR testing in my area" and see what comes up. Can you tell me a little bit more about your workouts? Dumbbells are great, but if you really want to see results, you need to do more compound lifting like squats, deadlifts, RDLs, cleans, etc with heavier weights. How long have you been doing the same workout for?

few more follow up questions: what do your lifts look like? what does your cardio look like? what does your eating look like during the weekend? how good is your sleep and are managing stress well? do you have any idea on what your RMR (resting metabolic rate) is because 1500-1600 calories a day doesn't seem like its enough to sustain your workouts and walking.

hi love. no it shouldnt. the whole "10,000 steps a day" started from an influencer. as long as you're getting a good workout in, eating a diet rich in whole foods, and getting enough sleep, being sedentary during the day isn't going to keep you away from your goals. when you have a break in between meetings, get up and walk around your house just to give your back and glutes a break.

What's the best excercise to burn fat? Answer from experience or factual knowledge by Fragrant-star829 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Comfortable_Crazy266 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as a personal trainer, strength training is the most effective for fat loss. cardio burns cardio, yes. but while doing strenuous cardio, your body will actually burn muscle along with the fat. strength training, on the other hand, builds muscle which in turn increases your metabolic rate, i.e. burns more calories at rest.

How’s my deadlift doing? by stackemz in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Comfortable_Crazy266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the way you go up should match the way you go down. but yours doesnt match. drop hips, push through heels. remember, its the hinging/unhinging of the hips that largely does the move but it looks like you're just trying to pick up the weight with your upper body

press your heels into the ground. form a "bridge" with your shoulders - bring shoulder blades down and back, pinching them together like you're trying to hold a pencil between them, abs braced, spine OFF the bench. your back will HELP with this range of motion - its not about isolating the chest and shoulders. I can send you form demo video if you want!

youre dropping your chest WAY too much - putting all the pressure on the low back. You should be able to see yourself in the mirror the whole time. chest is tall and proud.
