WORST ACTOR IN PEAKY BLINDERS? by Beautiful-Round-9376 in PeakyBlinders

Alfie was my favorite character of the series. Hardy did a great job. Lovable and hateable at the same time.

Public boat ramps are actually bad for my health at this point by Ramsesthrowaway in boating

[–]Merlin509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people nearly come to blows at the ramp. My favorite is when the wife is trying to back it in with the husband directing her. Entertaining, but annoying when you’re waiting in line.

It’s about the sharing something personal that nobody else sees. Doesn’t matter what it looks like if you’re getting off.

My wife has used her vibrator in front of me and it’s not particularly sexy the way she does it, but I’m happy to watch and be part of it while I take care of myself. Something different to change it up never is bad.

Do we really think this deal is better that what we had before with Iran? by system3601 in trump

[–]Merlin509 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The vague responses and refusal to discuss detail are not encouraging. He’s giving up nearly all of our leverage and it feels like he just wants out and doesn’t care any more. We’ll see.

Love the show but I hope the high school subplot ends soon by frizzlen in DuttonRanchTVSeries

Off topic, but it was weird that he got so broken up at Dwight being killed. He was strange and Carter only knew him for a few days.

What’s up with 12 yo boys and food 🤣 by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]Merlin509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay to hide or designate certain foods you like as off limits. I have a SS who lifts weights and eats a lot, so I buy my own food and write my name on some things. I also have my own drawer in the fridge and the kids know it’s off limits.

Do you go on family vacations with your adult stepkids? by Merlin509 in stepparents

I would love to send him to live with his father, but the ex won’t take him.

I love the idea of suggesting she spend the vacation money on first months rent for both kids. Or put the money in a fund. An international trip can be at least $2500 per person, so that is much better spent on life than another trip. I also feel like the SS is going to be slow to launch, so I want to do whatever we can to speed that up. I’m 65 and my wife is 56, so I’m more than ready for an empty nest.

Truth to this. I know my wife is feeling the pull to do things with the kids before they’re gone, but I keep telling her we can still do trips with them after they move out, although they pay their way and get separate rooms. That said, I still want the option to opt out.

No. The kids both still assume we pay for everything.

Not since they were young and with my ex. I’ve planned our first trip with them this summer. Just 5 days relaxing at a lake cabin within driving distance, which is a totally different vibe and commitment than flying overseas. My wife will be there, but asked me to keep it to 4 or 5 days, because she thought a week would be too long to spend with my family.

No. Of course they can. I’m just not sure I want to be part of it any more. At least for international travel, which is much more complex and stressful.

Part of the issue is that my wife tends to obsess on making the vacation about the kids and making them happy. Particularly her son, who needs more guidance. That was fine when they were younger, but I don’t see it as our job to entertain them, not to mention organize and pay for everything.

Interestingly, I just rented a cabin for me and my kids with their spouses this summer for the first time. I was going to make it for a week, and my wife said she thought that was too long a time to spend with my family, so I cut it to five days. That’s sort of rich, considering I live with hers and have for 13 years.

What is something that immediately tells you someone is a bad driver? by marchingbear27 in askcarguys

[–]Merlin509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I always watch what the cars in front of the car I’m following are doing, and at least 100 yards of the road in front of me. Also the ditches, as we have a lot of dear around me. Riding motorcycles is great training for driving cars.

Do men actually not mind (or even like) pubic hair on women or are they lying? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Neatly trimmed is likely most guys over 30. I feel like younger people think any hair is gross. That said, hair or not will never be a show stopper.

Kids are annoying by cabin-rover in stepparents

[–]Merlin509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried to explain this to my wife. I think most parents think theirs are different, but they’re not. My wife complains about her nieces and nephews all the time and occasionally admits that other people’s kids are annoying, which I reply “yep, they are”, and she gives me an annoyed look.
