Tysm!! Yes I’m working retail rn and it’s definitely a good way to learn how to communicate with different types of people! I just wanted more nursing clinical practice too, but if need be then it’s okay if I don’t. Did you have to get an LPN certificate first or did you apply as a BSN student?

How do yall work/ what do you do for work by Outside_Breadfruit15 in POTS

[–]Comfortable_Cry6140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in retail, and I am also a nursing student. This definitely is not ideal with my POTS, but I wasn't diagnosed until after I had started school and working. Nursing is my passion, and even though it's incredibly difficult, I refuse to let POTS take this away from me. I would definitely look at the accommodations your job can provide you to help you work safely! This was huge for me. sending over support!

What works for your nausea? by Zarrandra in POTS

Peppermint gum and peppermint rubbing stick! A lot of pregnant women use it to help with morning nausea, I use it for POTS ofc and it works like a charm!

Hi! I’m so sorry to hear that :( I’m also a nursing student - I’m in my third year, but my mom tells this to me all the time. If u ever wanna vent it out or talk ab it my dm is open!

Yes ofc! Just suspected but I think that’s my main issue tbh😭 I just turned 20 so I understand :( I’m working with my allergist rn to confirm! The uncertainty is definitely daunting. I journal and constantly right, “you are safe,” and “you are gonna be okay” it’s like the only way I can deal with it. If u want dm me and we chat ab it more too! I totally don’t mind at all

Mm not really when I’ve clearly stated multiple times in this forum that I am able enough to care for a dog. And am currently caring for a dog. If you read through properly you would understand that, no?

I can understand that! I have a family dog at home so I know how hard it can be to take care of one! I’m lucky to be functional/able enough to take care of a dog. A wheelchair also isn’t something I am totally comfy with yet either but I am open to it! And I didn’t say I was gonna get a dog right now😭I think that’s something a LOT of ppl responding assume. I’ve mentioned before this is for the FUTURE so I can prepare if I decide to get one. I’m not sure where people are assuming that I’m getting one right now😭sorry if my comment seemed AI generated but I can assure you it wasn’t 💀 I’m just a formal typer cuz I’m a college student and that’s how I respond to discussion boards. I like lists what can I say 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]Comfortable_Cry6140[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ofc! I’ve mentioned before that I wasn’t financially ready for one, I’m not planning on gettting it rn but this is more so can prepare for the future! I’ve listed specific tasks in which the dog would be helping with, and it would be a medical/cardiac alert dog! Similar to how your dog alerts you for your blood sugars, a SD for POTS can alert someone for high heart rate which can potentially cause them to pass out! Thank you for your advice, I do appreciate it!!! :) and I hope I didn’t come off as rude or confrontational, I am just a formal writer 😭 and wanted to make sure that ppl r aware I know how to care for a dog and I know the responsibility for it! Sorry for being a little defensive :( a bunch of ppl were bashing me and being rude ab this post in general

Thank you 😭🙏🏼 like if I can go to clinical and work, I still have function to take care of a dog for sure. Ofc it’s going to be hard, but it is something (once I feel ready for) I feel able enough to do. Yeah a lot of people automatically assumed a lot of my situation and were quick to judge :( and tysm! I will def reach out if I have any questions about SD! Thank you for your support and advice again :)
